And yet, none of the people reporting (or not reporting) on these ‘trivial’ kinds of deals appreciate the purchase decisions of existing or potential customers for their wares.
There are 11 teams in this series.. is it *REALLY* that hard to keep up with the machinations? |

Not a case of being too hard to keep up, but probably that there is lvery limited if any interest. It's an imperfect science, there are stories that are published which individually we don't find interesting and ones that they don't run which we would. But they are the publishers, and have access to what stories generate the most number of reads, so it is reasonable to assume that they have some understanding of what interest their readers.
There would be dozens of sponsorship deals done every year and both sponsor and team will often punch out a press release announcing. The trade press will run the big ones, but the lesser ones it will let go. Much like it does with people. Driver and senior staff movements are reported, junior ones not so much. That a team changes off-track suppliers is unlikely to be of interest to most people reading motorsport publications. |

If I asked the Groves if Penrite are paying full commercial rates for 2 cars, they'd tell me to go stuff myself and it's none of my business. |

Which podcasts ? I’d love to have a listen to him
To be fair, you could then go and write an article in a manner that they may not want to tell you to go stuff yourself next time |

Relationships between the media and teams are generally more professional. The team will politely decline to reply rather than tell a journalist to go stuff himself, and the media will write it up as such.

Maybe the motor noters have been trolling 10/10 and asked some questions. Presumably casts doubt on the suggestion that Truck Assist will be the title sponsor of the #2 WAU entry.

Nobody said Truck Assist would be. What I heard was that it was NTI, the parent company.
2 cars at MSR maybe makes it less likely but there is a strong B2B angle with these sponsors. WAU is very strong in that regard. Great to see MSR with one sponsor over both cars. Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk |

Not sure whether that arrangement will get good reception, especially in regional areas.

Hardly probing journalism, Speedcafe have just done a cut and paste of the WAU press release and reworded it slightly.

It's been a struggle for the series the last few years, but we should have a very good grid of cars and drivers this year. Can't wait to see who will be the title challengers this year

Talking about the number switch (Jacobson now running #76 not #22 which moves to Pither) quite a 'nice' story behind it.... The special meaning behind Jacobson’s new number |
