The problem is, if it was Sutton driving an Infiniti then everything would be ok, but it’s BMW putting in impressive times so the grim reaper will be out in force.

Round Two, Brands Hatch Indy 14-15 May, Races 4,5&6
But 5 BMWs in top 7 is a bit ominous…

I wouldn't read too much into it. They have their own settings and just remember, they may not have the quite the same pace in the race

With Ingram up in 6th with no hybrid for qualifying due to leading the championship I think it suggest some of the FWD teams are maybe not where they should be with the hybrid system and underperformed a little.
I think also WSR and Ciceley have done some decent work on the BMW over the winter as so far it's looked a lot stronger than the Infiniti has (ok Ash is no longer in it but I would have expected more from Moffat maybe) considering last year I think Lasertools had the better car. |

Boring day tomorrow then. BMWs definitely have an unfair advantage only had to look at Donington to see that with Morgan running so high with no hybrid. But suppose with there being a couple of dry years for bmw, dick Bennetts has stamped his feet and spat his dummy out so nothing will be done about it.

I do believe that Jake Hill will be the champion this year, but that doesn't make it unfair or boring. |

I think the driver still plays a part, but the car still needs to be competitive. Let's not forget that even though the Infiniti was a title winner, it wasn't completely dominant

The Infiniti has always been a dog of a car. It was only successful because it had an elite level driver in it whos driving style/preferred set up enabled the issues with the car to be driven round to make him virtually unstoppable. A bit like the Subaru before it.

Ingram sort of blew his own arguement in that interview before when he said no deployment for qualy cost him 3 - 4 tenths...
Considering Colin had 9 secons of Hybrid (I think it was) - he finished 2.3 Tenths ahead of Ingram - so on that basis, hybrid corrected that would put the Hyundai and BMW pretty close. Last edited by Jon411; 15 May 2022 at 10:42. |
