The main fins are still there (incl Peugeot) but smaller than previous LMP1 type regs I assume as these made all the profiles virtually the same for back half - haven't F1 fins also reduced from a few years back?
Ferrari seems to have lots of small fins/deflectors for maintaining downforce overvarious surfaces in yawing movements. |

Hypercars are about 200kg heavier than LMP1s so they might be less inclined to flip even with smaller fins

If it’s a requirement, why doesn’t the Peugeot have an engine cover fin?

Understood, although how is that regulated or enforced as a rule? Is it wind tunnel tests or something else?

There are criteria that has to be met in CFD. For various yaw angles and ride heights the car has to be better than a reference criteria. For Toyota they considered getting rid of the fin, but it was so good at achieving the aim that they still had one. I guess they just thought we have a good efficient solution, why waste time. There are actual things we can make better.
There was a good article of how the process works in Racecar engineering last year in the early Hypercar days. I think it was the one about the Toyota, but there were a lot of Hypercar articles around the same time. I’ll see if I can find it later… |

Have NA V10s and V12s been effectively regulated out of feasibility with this current ruleset?

The Valkyrie should be there. I know from a very close family member just how amazing the car looks and sounds. If we saw it out on track we'd all be drooling - both at the looks and the incredible noise it makes.....

Terrific stuff! Quite novel of de Tomaso to use a toilet roll holder as a gearstick surround though.....

A V12 is more attractive to a boutique manufacturer than a V6 Turbo. They are not going to win, they are going to participate and with that sound the car will be the most loved by everybody. |

Another 'extravaganza' creation joins the brigade: https://www.motor1.com/news/622815/7...ace-car-monza/
Track special only for now, the few planned to be made can go play with the Valkyries and such. |

Great sounds - possibly some would have been more of a true 'Hypercar' than LMP1.5, but can't complain with bigger fields now expected.
Do think about the Red Bull/AMR missed opportunities, especially with a few reminders on United Autosports 22. |

Good point, but for me:
Red Bull/AMR. Care factor: Nil. |

I doubt either RBR or AMR are interested in this. Their soul focus is F1
