My browser repeatedly hung and I had to restart, and those messy problems for #85 did strain my patience with this race. But, with some less annoyed feelings, I am super happy for WEC extending this race, because this was a really good race.

When they decided not to cheat the fans, and give them a race. A FULL race. That makes people want to be able to watch, if not go to, your races. The way they decided to handle this situation was top notch. There will be a lot made of this in the press, all of it good.

It wasn’t a full race. If it was it would have been TWO laps longer. Frankly it’s a joke.

They have promoted Bovy for the last two seasons to silver and both times she has successfully appealed the decision, so has stayed a bronze.

Stewards Decision No 72

"After having checked the video evidence, the stewards determined that car 15 entered in the wrong garage, then use the reverse gear in the pit lane"


After the race the following penalties have been given...
- 5 Seconds added to #7 Toyota for hitting #85 Lambo
- 5 Seconds added to #85 Lambo for hitting #92 Porsche
- 5 Seconds added to #88 Mustang for unsafe release.
- 5 Place grid penalty for Earl Bamber at the next WEC race (LM24) after hitting #99 and #31.

NFA for #51 for forcing #7 off track. Ferrari also protested the result saying the race shouldn't have been restarted. It was thrown out by the stewards.

Funny how a fans handheld video can offer the best view. Completely alters the impression of the incident. From that view it looks like no gap existed for the Caddy, front or rear, but somehow Earl got the car in there with no way out.

edit: and also, how did he not flip over? extremely lucky or cars built to this spec are less likely to roll?

Ferrari REALLY makes it hard to like them, almost like they've taken lessons from Horner on crying to officials.

The Porsche drifting to his right after clearing the BMW didn't help either. If he stayed on his line no issue I think but may have been passed by the end of the straight. I get the move but have to be aware of everyone not just the GT and your desired path. 5 place penalty seems harsh but apparently most seem to think Bamber is driving blind any more so surprised they didn't just exclude the car
