Mondello (update) ????

Was down in Mondello again yesterday and everything looks shipshape aprt froma wee bit of tarmac that has still 2 be laid. Can sum1 please let me know what is going on or is this FIA going to ruin the one meeting I have looked forward to all year??
Any news (good or bad) from anyone on the forum would be much appreciated

Have you tried asking someone at the track?

They may not know, but they're going to be more knowledgable than us.

The only thing I have heard is that the track is scheduled to be finished on time but there is a little doubt it will take place due to Foot & Mouth. If it doesn't then a circuit in England will be used. I hope it is at Mondello because I want to go!

Last time I asked someone who should know all I got was a "hmmmmmm". It's seems it's a bit political at the mo and their best guess was still 50:50.

As ive said before i'd like to see 13 rounds at 13 different circuits in the BTCC. + Mondello looks like a stonking track!

Ideally; Silverstone (GP), Brands (GP), Donington (GP), Thruxton, Oulton (International), Knockhill, Snetterton, Mondello, Castle Combe, Pembrey, Croft, Silverstone (International), Brands (Indy). That's what i call a proper British' Championship!

I totally agree it would be a shame to lose Mondello. I also agree that the BTCC should run on different circuits ... I would like to see them on Mallery, Cadwell Park, Castle Combe, and Pembrey

Sorry, i forgot Rockingham, love to see the BTCC on the oval! Apart from that, you guys are naming too mny rounds-there's no way we could have 15 rounds w/two races at each meeting! esp. w/the new 'lower cost drive'.

Also, Cadwell Park, much as i like it is much to narrow for TC's-its even narrower than Oulton. And if you're gonna race on Oulton, use the full, 'proper', track!

im sure that they dont use the full track because the shell oils bend(or whatever its called)aint safe 4 the tourers to go around.

Just contacted Mondello. . . . . . .

Tickets are:
Saturday £10.00
Sunday £20.00

Gold (both days inc Paddock) £35.00

Tickets will be available by next week and can be purchased by credit card.

Camping:
There are normally no camping facilites at the circuit, but for this event they are currently in negotiations with local farmers. They said that they should know more within 10 days.

Yippee BTCC coming to Ireland hope to be there but cannot get off work for Saturday so I reckon it's just the one day for me I'm afraid. Not that makes one bit of a difference to me. Anyone who is going over will enjoy the Irish hospitality that we are famous for.
