Amazingly the threatened storms completely missed the circuit last night, about 10 drops of rain early evening all we saw..... Would be good for more of the same today, but not holding out too much hope! The Marshals BBQ is now going to be held in the National Paddock scrutineering bay, as the area designated is now crammed with race cars and support vehicles. Sorry, but they’ve gone too far with the amount of competing cars. If they want that many in future some of the car club displays will have to move or go......
Hope this isn’t significant, but in the early hours the gate sentry for the National paddock saw movement around the back of garages, so called for support. No-one was found, but there is evidence of the fence being bent down to facilitate access...... Be vigilant, folks! |

Another point. We have to park up at the National Paddock and then try to get to the Wing. Glad I sorted tyres and fuel yesterday.
Also managed to deliver some liquid refreshment for the BBQ. |

Much fresher this morning, thankfully. Gate crew were excellent, having a coffee before we start wandering.
Have a great and safe day. |

Thankfully! I was distinctly unwell last night as a result of the heat so the fact that I am now wearing a fleece seems a bit bizarre....

I know that introducing the subject of the New Year at this time and place might also sound 'bizarre' Mike, but if Historic Tenthers would like me to produce a calendar for 2020, now would be a good time to start collecting suitable pictures for inclusion. Last (this) year's effort was a bit a hodge podge, so the Classic should provide a happy hunting ground for the likes of Brands, and anyone with a mobile phone. Anything short of hard porn would be considered.
I will be at the Bentley Drivers Club Silverstone next weekend if anyone is going. Enjoy the racing and barbecue. Uncle Bob. |

The Cadillac was fantastic to watch.Maybe the slowest but certainly the best to watch.
Interesting to hear Minshaw complaining about the Pre 63 GT grid and that some cars shouldn't be in it. |

Which weather forecast seems to be the most accurate for the Silverstone area, i was planning on bringing an open top sportscar both days but it is a 2 hour drive either way and it has no weather gear and no tonneau etc. So if i did bring it and it was raining both days it would be sitting on the club stand with a weather proof cover over it which seems a bit pointless!

Walked some miles today, visited both paddocks and took a lot of static shots. Only saw 20 minutes of track action all day. Looked out for Delta's truck but didn't spot it although I think I saw him pushing a F2 after post qually checks ?
Very impressed with the Masters Endurance entry, looking forward to seeing them in action. Forecasts seemed confused but will plan for the worst tomorrow. Joe Cocker tribute not bad. |

Yep not a bad first day, I think this is the busiest Ive seen the classic on a Friday, not just spectators but the car clubs fairly full as well.
Standing watching, you can see how hard everyone trying in all the sessions, great to see those cars getting used as they should be. Just one question tho, were was the Bentley being kept as I couldn't see it in the main wing garages? |
