Just as overdone as the Veneno. What ever happened to understatement?

I guess those very few with the built-in "you could have 1-2 years of awesomeness but then everybody would leave because of the out of control costs and homologation specials so it'd be bad" -mindset. Okay yeah maybe, maybe, but at least those 1-2 years would be awesome. Current GT cars are so boring, we need exotics back. |

Wow that looks brilliant.
Not sure if Mok is intending to update/buy a 650 but that reminds me a bit of the Clearwater McLaren that race in Asia. |

GT3 rear wings always look so silly because they are so big.

The Clearwater McLaren can't be updated. Their Mclaren is unrepairable after the crash at Shanghai. So they need to buy a new one, but I think it also depends a bit on the McLaren Singapore dealer and the amount of support McLaren GT will give.

Personally, I'd Rather see a big rear wing than a lot of Aero on front that makes the shape totally different to the road car, like the GTR GT3 does, because It reminds you less to the road car. Since the Wing is the pay you've got to pay for track racing and not high speed like road cars tend to be for.

If you run a high level of downforce on the rear, you also have to run a high level downforce on the front to equalise . (Unless the car from birth is unbalanced) |

That looks like late 90's GT1, lmp1 and group c mixed together. I like it.

Seriously great stuff. I suppose this is a sign of the times. The ACO has chosen efficiency to be the mark of the top class instead of being based on a road car. But I ask, couldn't it be both? |

Among other things, this fantasy chassis render (which are always more fantastical than ever actually possible anyway) is way too low to conform with LMP1 rules. And it's highly unlikely that the height is gonna go down again come new evolution of regulations.
What this basically seems like, is the imaginary candidate for stillborn EVO LMP1 like the Corvette render in 2007-08 was. |

On the topic of McLaren, that handsome but somewhat pricey new 570s GT4 is potentially to be the topic of a new single make series, as confirmed on Autosport today.
Nothing solid yet, but they are looking at it. I'd be interested by the prospect of a McLaren single make series, but a couple thoughts come up- 1- is there really capacity for it? If so where? Ginettas support BTCC, I'm not sure on the BGT supports currently (please educate me anyone who knows) 2- the GT4 hits £160,000 right? Surely that's way too expensive for single make, youth based series 3- I'd be curious of the format. I'd love to see 2 drivers, 50 mins race, compulsory pit stop. Reflects the higher level sprint GT races, so good training for youngsters Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
