New car lauched down under Listec WIL 013 Durectec Formula Ford

see club FF forum

Looks like they run on the right tyres ACB10s, would reduce budgets in the UK if we switched.

Jamun - Cole, McKenna, Hill, (Herron)
Fluid - Barker, Barrable, Gamberini, Findlay
Kevin Mills Racing - Jones, Erickson, Cammish
Raysport - Jaffer
JTR - Stuart, Newgarden
GWR - ????????????
Enigma - Mills, Hamilton
Wrensport - Vernon, (Scott)
Minister - de Zille
GVR - Cunill, (O Hara)
LMS Racing - Buri
Williams Racing/Marque Cars - Luke Williams
Juno - Palmer
DWR - Woodrow
Getem - De Wit, (Down)
Inter Motorsport - Harper

I make that 24 drivers so far, over 28 still possible. Question marks next to GWR, Harper has left to join Inter Motorsport, and it seems Benson was never confirmed there. Malvern may still do select events in the second half of the year if he is able to find backing, and if Cliff Dempsey can supply the car. Still unknown as to who Benson will be driving for this year, along with Graham Carroll. Jake Green who tested for JTR and Jamun is also unknown.

Testing from Rockingham today saw Cole and Findlay topping the timesheets, both doing 21.5.

Have I missed anything??

No more testing news?

Getem - (Down) ? Jason racing a Mygale? Assume Nathan is still in the states.

Jason will hopefully be driving the 2009 GETEM chassis at select rounds this season. Nathan is still in America, looking after the newest edition to the Down family.

It seemed as though half the British Formula Ford grid was testing at Oulton Park yesterday, Jamun x 2, Fluid x 4, Getem, Inter Motorsport, JTR x 2, KMR x 3, Enigma, RAYSport x 2, Minister, GVR, Juno. Mixed conditions, rain in the morning, drying conditions and then a couple of dry sessions at the end of the day. Typical Oulton Park, plenty of red flags.

Bill , I was there all day, for me I thought James Cole looked consistently the quickest, the best I had was a 1.42.29 but that may have been a little optimistic as I was using my mobile and not a stop watch.

On the longer runs the Spectrum guys all looked good , I had Jones from Dan Ericsson then my Lad, the Fluid guys seemed a bit up and down but I dont think they have been to Oulton much this year, and I think they had a driver crash. I have been to a good few tests now and think that Cole looks consistently quick, I was impressed with the Newgarden kid at Donington thought he was spectacular through craners but he looks raw so it does not change my opinion that Cole is the current Pace. Of course more will be revealed as we move toward round one.

Cole will, and should be quick. But I am not convinced this will hold up in the races. If he makes a break in a race, I think he will be alright, but I am not convinced he will have it an all-out dogfight. Despite what I believed at the beginning of the year, I think Newgarden is favourite. He can 'race' as well as be quick over a lap. Findlay will be up there to, as I hope all the KMR Spectrums are.

Don't rekon on Findlay doing anything. His performances in the last few years have not been good and I doubt things will improve this year. My regret is that Graham Carroll doesn't appear to have a drive. It would have been nice to see what the multiple FF1600 champ could do in a duratec.

Yes I agree shame about Graham, I'd imagine he will run with RaySport if he did do the series after his test with them. Stilla few more potential drivers for this year e.g herron etc.

Any reports from Donnington yesterday? Heard quite a few cars were out e.g KMR, RaySport, Mtec Fluid

Also does anyone know who is doing shcolarship class as the website doesnt tell you.

Darelle Wilson will be entered in the scholarship class,he will be driving the 06 Ray used last year by Chrissy Palmer. He only sat in the car for the first time last week when he managed 16 laps on a damp track at Mallory. So has quite a steep learning curve to go through at Oulton,he will be out at next Wednesday's test.

Yeah, those were just what I could remember from what I was told. From what I heard though Newgarden was consistantly mid 41's with old rubber, and didn't do a new tyre run so he would be in the 40's for sure with a new set of boots. I think Hill did just get into the 40's on his final new tyre run. Barker's time is good, seems like Fluid have got that car working well.

Barker was no where near 1m 41.1. Newgarden was banging in mid 1m 41's on old tyres lap after lap. Newgarden and Cole are still the benchmark in my eyes.

Hill could have done those times. He was driving well and does seem to get quicker every time he goes out. He is in for a shout for a podium.

He will be racing the Ray which is owned by me and my DW Racing UK team, he had a good day at Mallory Park the team where very impressed with how he got to grips with it. Wednesday will be good at Oulton as we can see how he stacks up against guys that have had months of testing compared to Darrelle's half a day.

I am looking forward to a great season of Formula Ford.

Dan.

Anyone know if britishformulaford.co.uk will resolve their hacking issue?

For a while now Firefox has flagged it up as containing malware/trojans, and now its URL redirects to "blackpornmix"(!)

Here's the google diagnostic for the page it redirects to:
http://safebrowsing.clients.google.c...4&parameter=sf

I guess the webmaster must be aware of these issues.

To be safe I always browse with Firefox (+ NoScript add-on), as I've heard IE failed to detect when the "blackpornmix" hackers/trojan had compromised other sites (why does that not surprise me?)
