Great race, it was exciting from the start. It was really cold at the track, the wind was icy cold, thank god for the Patron Island

And didn't the ACO wanted to slow down the GT2 class? |

What a thrilling race and a real fun to watch. Very good tv coverage and as always an outstanding RLM team... perfect combination. So if the ALMS would go for to offer a stream for all races I also would be happy to pay for it.

If you've registered for the live stream, the full recording of the race is now watchable on the same page where the live stream was on Saturday.

Just finished watching (damn for having to go to bed right before the start due to the lateness of it...), and DAMN that was a cracker. Awesome race.

I believe the changes are more to do with reduceing costs than pace, particularly as GT1 will likely be no more in ACO racing from 2011.
Unless there are drastic reg changes, the manufactuers also seem to gain back any lost speed. |

the first time unabated with warm tires through the corkscrew gives an excellent comparison to the difference in LMP speeds relative to the GT cars. it also shows just how fast it is in a proper sportscar from the top of the corkscrew all the way through turn 11. also shows how quick the gravel and "clag" builds up off line... Wow, I love the ambient microphone, picking up the other cars as they are caught, and also picking up the rubbing strips on the nose when on the curbs and with the high g-loading, especially in Turn 10---just banging and dragging left front all the way through there.
I guess we need to contact Mr. Hobbs, but I always figured it was 'klagg' |

Also, has anybody heard more about the Level 5 LMPC car's problem? Was it really a blown engine? How does this impact the cost structure of the class if engines blow after a few races... |

Could also be a bad batch of parts or simply a bad single part which failed ahead of its replacement time. After all, to quote a certain former Jaguar driver in the event of an engine failure, "there's 3 thousand bits in one of those engines and one of them isn't happy..."

At halfway through the Laguna replay on CBS, I am VERY impressed and hope the ALMS uses these guys again. It doesn't look like they have missed a thing so far and is actually a GREAT introduction to everything that goes into sportscar racing. I hope the ALMS makes use of their services to make a 2010 recap film, would be well worth almost any price.
