Gerben24 has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
I just received a message saying Ten Kate have finished their test at Almeria. Kiyonari was the quickest of the superbike boys.

No timing was done of the other teams but David Checa and Jacub Smrz supposedly were quick as well.

To my knowledge Ten Kate is the only WSBK Honda team that have tested with the new CBR.

The factory 1098 with a new Xerox livery:

http://www.superbikeplanet.com/showPic

I like it, but liked the old livery better.

Thursday the official presentation of the SBK Superbike World Championship 2008 took place in Milan. Most of the new bikes were there (warning: large photographs):

We've already seen this one, but here is the Xerox Ducati:

The Sterilgarda bike looks great. And the new Honda looks darn fine as well. I'm really looking forward to Superbike. I just hope the new 1200cc twin rule doesn't ruin what will be the best four-stroke racing class this year.

Good Lord how can you think that Sterilgarda bike looks good! Just black with a sticker!

Glad Ten Kate have gone to Normal livery, Yamaha looks cool, new Honda looks so much like an R1 chassis wise and proportionally!

Here are some pictures of the Yamaha GMT bike:

http://photos.gmt94.com/photos.php?topic=115&p=5

It looks rather scruffy if you ask me, a lot of stickers at the bottom of the fairing, not nicesly done.

They've put their own subframe on the bike, with a very thin shock absorber running to the swing arm. I've got no idea what thats for.

I hate the Laser exhausts.

Something odd looking about it for sure. The AMA bikes look much better in blue.

Doesn't look to bad.

Btw, they're officially dubbed "The Grenich" Boys, or "The Boys From Grenich".

Unofficial times from testing at Qatar, day 1:

Lorenzo Lanzi (Ducati), 1m59.6s
Ruben Xaus (Ducati), 2m01.1s
Max Biaggi (Ducati), 2m01.2s
Gregorio Lavilla (Honda), 2m01.4s
Russell Holland (Honda), 2m01.6s
Karl Muggeridge (Honda), 2m02.5s
Ayrton Badovini (Kawasaki), 2m03.0s
Vittorio Iannuzzo (Kawasaki), 2m04.0s
Regis Laconi (Kawasaki), no time
Makoto Tamada (Kawasaki), no time

Interesting gap between the first two. Most probably Yamaha and Ducati will join the party today (including Troy Bayliss, back from injury).

Unofficial Superbike times from Vallelunga:
1. Rolfo (Honda) 1Min40,0
2. Aoyama (Honda) 1Min40,5
3. Morelli (Honda) 1Min41,8

Unofficial Supersport times from Vallelunga:
1. Nanneli (Honda) 1Min40,6
2. Roccoli (Yamaha) 1Min40,8
3. Viziello (Honda) 1Min41,0
4. Giansanti (Honda) 1Min40,5

Should we be worried that Alstare Suzuki was not present at the official 2008 presentation of the WSBK series? All the other manafacturers were present...

Looking at their site there is no news about a new sponsor. Have I missed something?
