It's going to have to have some serious factory determination to make it competitive. Otherwise we're looking at someone to compete with the back markers.

I have hopes that next season or the one after, things will be in high gear and it will be at the sharp end of the field.

I can't wait for that Viper GT car to race! I'm hoping that Dodge can invite Oreca, just like old times...

I hope the Viper wont be slow, it should be on pace of at least the early season Porsches to be 'there' with the rest of the group. I think it'll have huge torque from that V10, lets see how good it corners. The last gen Viper was fast.

Good to see ALMS going to more world class tracks like this and VIR as opposed to street circuits. |

Nice, well as long as it doesn't replace any of the current events on the calendar. That V8SC double header would be MEGA indeed and I could see some drivers making guest appearances on either series...

That CoA ALMS race must be a 6 hour race. It has to be.

Still a V8 race before the ALMS race and then another or two on Sunday wouldn't be a bad play. Plus coming all the way here, with a paddock full of other pro drivers, would give the promoters, teams and the series a desire to run as much as possible to put on a good show. Any guesses on how many ALMS drivers will make appearances in a V8 car at some point in the weekend? Might have to see about taking a week or so from work, even if it's a 15 or so hour drive

I'd rather have sprint races with V8s and an enduro with ALMS, makes for more balanced weekend. Then some single seater support series like Star Mazda or USF2000 + IMSA GT3 and you have a very neat package edit: I made a thread for 2013 season, could be wiser to direct this discussion there Last edited by Deleted; 3 Jun 2012 at 17:41. |

As promised in the ALMS 2013 Discussion thread, we've got a really cool Porsche feature for our fans. Please feel free to discuss here and let me know what you think, or any ideas of what you'd like to see us feature in the future. After all, we want to keep things interesting for you our fans!
Earlier in the season, we did a twitter chat with a motorsports fan group called Motorama. They asked a lot of interesting questions about Porsche's involvement in ALMS and with the Porsche teams, so we thought it'd be a great idea to sit down with Jens Walther, President of Porsche Motorsports North America. We set aside some time at the last ALMS race at Mazda Raceway and spent about an hour chatting about what we all love: racing! http://bit.ly/KPGlJd Can't wait to hear your thoughts! |

I haven't finished reading it yet, but what I have read has been worth the wait. You are doing an excellent job in keeping us informed and providing exposure to Falken.
Keep up the good work! |

Team Falken Tire earned two wins for Porsche Motorsport North America in 2010, one win in wet conditions at Mid-Ohio, and another in the dry in the streets of Baltimore. Those wins came in 2011. |
