I don't see why Corvette is content to pedal around in GTE-AM, a worthy category in it's own right, when you have the heavy weights trading blows in GTE-Pro.

Right now Chevrolet has problems with auto recalls so factory racing is not going to try any new challenges.

They will let those who wish to pick-up the slack.

It's yesterday's news, but Trans-Am will have a C7 Corvette in the TA1 class. Then again, it's more of a footnote.

If only the Corvette Trans-Am has a better chassis tub... Oh wait, the series can't afford those DTM-style chassis for their cars!

C6 TA bodywork looked fine, but that has pretty crappy vibe in it.

Hope they have some sort of special livery but doubt it...

Remember Fox Sports 1should be broadcasting the race as rare one-off so I think the US television presence might've influenced their decision a bit. Even if the Cota parking lots prove to be ghost town attendance wise again...

Someone tweeted that Konica Minolta had a hand in making this happen. That also explains why both Taylor brothers are in the car and might bode well for a different livery.

I'd actually prefer if it was painted like the WTR DP. This just looks like a last-minute thing that was thrown together because they couldn't be assed to make a real livery.

I don't think they will enter it in the TUSC race, but if they did then who would drive it? All 6 of their Le Mans line up are already racing in other cars and I don't know if they would want to try to schedule their drives to be able to share the car. Liddell and Briscoe have previous C7R experience, and Liddell would be at the track anyway...

I think we would already know if that was in the plan though.

Supposedly Briscoe is looking for a ride anyway so the combo Lidell-Briscoe would work.

I hope P&M will give Lawson Aschenbach a chance as well, he would be a great pick as the third driver!

That would only leave Dodge and BMW to respond!

Don't see more third cars (for TUSC) happening though. And I doubt we'll see the extra Porsche return for the Petit.

Yellow as main color with supportin black. Yes if we talk about the full season factory liveries, yes this is true (apart from the 1999 GTS). However, since this is an one-off event it would've been nice to see something different that has been totally lacking since the GT2 era started. This generic variation is just boring. Back in the GTS and GT1 days there were pleasant one-off surprises from the factory squad! Examples
