Extremely unlikely. I know my limits, and complex fabrication and welding is not one of them . . . I can draw it, but not physically make it!
TBH I've just about had my fill of historics, particularly the business side of it, far too many charlatans, sharks, ar5eholes and down right proven criminals. There are two cars I'm still interested in, but nothings moving at the moment so still pipe dreams. One out, one in etc. Lambrettas are much easier to hide/store, as are bass guitars. |

This reminded me of a funny engine rebuild . . . . Formula Ford engine . . .rod bolts were really tight. After one bolt by hand I got the windy gun out . . . just dismantling. The compressor was going over time, then when I went to pick the bolts out I dropped one they were so hot.
some 'bright spark' had installed ARP rod bolts with high strength loctite thread lock. It cured and is so hard it actually distorted the threads on the bolts, and the rods. another load of scrap! |

A whole thread won't be enough I'm afraid. You can add search for some hard to source/fund parts too. Re bright sparks, each time a bloke opens an old Alfa engine we all shout in one voice: watch the timing chain and look for the removable link…

Thats the simple bit, I've found removable links on Ford engines too, sometime half on the chain and half in the sump!

Ho yes I can imagine that! And the Alfa sump has a complicated design… As to the special bolts you mentioned many use them but dont read or even dont understand the manual…*Hence some "situations" when rebuilding or driving. Is it your Tornado which was offered for sale until recently?

Not mine, a friends. I think he may keep and finish it, but like many, sopmewhat dissolusioned with the whole scene at present. Mines has stalled for a few reasons. The biggest being a lack of enthusiasm! There's more fun and far more important things to be concerned with at present.

Deep and moving thought. Many things will be or at least look different after this virus.
