Well we're home and dry, I'm sure there's a cafe closer to home, but, as John pointed out, I choose to live on the edge. . . .
Good to put faces to names and catch up with old ones, in fact some of them aren't even that old! Compte, I think wins farthest travelled, although Jez surely pipped him on the day. Once Delta had finished fannying around in make up I think he got a few snaps taken . . . . I'm sure they'll be up here soon. Oh, Al wins biggest entourage, I thought he was famous when he strutted in , I thought I was doing alright with a mini-me! |

Just in from workshop and will post pics in a Minuit.I had a brilliant time thanks to all who came. Big Al was exactly how i thought he would be and i thought JR was much more handsome that i imagined. We have met before John some years ago at Calais. That's got you puzzled.here goes with photo stand by.

I know the bloke Tim, I met him on my stand at Silverstone Classic and had a long chat, he was telling me about the Alfa. He may have even bought something, can't quite recall. Small world. Blessed if I can remember his name though. Sorry, not much help

I met him last year when he was testing the Alfa at Mallory, dropping oil all over the place. Didn't get his name though.

I thought we left a single problem out, for the non attendees. When Iain publishes the minutes they can try and spot it

Tim, its the chap in the striped jumper to the right of me. Nice to see young historic motorsport fan Daniel at the front on the right he is having his first season with CTCRC next year and has done some Masters rounds in his Mk 1 Mexico, he would be a good prospect for a bit of sponsorship from someone to help a student racer and some young blood in the sport as he is keen as mustard and a good steady driver.
I think the weather was working against us John and the sales rush before the Vat increase. How come I am the only one with a glass of grog in my hand? Last edited by Al Weyman; 31 Dec 2009 at 10:25. |

I remember him now but can't for the life of me remember his name. It used to really pee me off how fast his Alfa went...........when it was running, and it used to dump oil everywhere when he was racing with the Sports and Saloon series (now DMN)

Well, I'll make a start....
SZRacer (James) - 13 Zeffarelly (Joe) - 16 Delta (iain) - 4 Compte de Graves - 9 John Ruston - 3 Great to see everyone yesterday. Really heartened by the turnout! By the way, leaving earlier than most, I realised today that I forgot to pay for the first cup of coffee we all had, so whoever picked up the tab for mine, sincere apologies, and I owe you a drink!! Regards, James Last edited by SZRacer; 31 Dec 2009 at 11:59. |

Clockwise on the RH table, 14 Cliff Ryan, 15 Al Weyman, 16 Zef, 17 Arthur, 18 the chap whose name I can't remember either (Wilson/Watson? lives in Royston), 19 not sure, 2nd 18 my daughter Amy who paints racing cars but doesn't drive them, 2nd 19 me, 20 the chap who destroyed his Avenger at Brands last summer (tells me it was running again 9 days later, amazing) and 21 Daniel Ryan. Everything else was just a blur of rattling crockery.

19 is young Sam Ryan, doesn't race or want to but owns and cherishes an nice little A35 although too young to drive it yet, the Avenger chap is Phil Waller, this man can do wonders repairing bodywork from his establishment in Watford he is currently working on 2 Ferrari GT challenge cars, a Ford GT (nee later day GT40), an E-Type full resto and Andrew Davenalls rolled A105 which he has done a truely excellent job putting back together. A name worth remembering if any of you guys are in need of repairs.
