Rebellion and smp are close enough that rebellion or smp can't afford a mistake. Toyota can afford quite a lot with pace and stint lengths. Quite a lot being maybe a 15 minute delay. But I feel no privateer p1 will run a faultless race, giving Toyota that much more space.

And that's what the ACO, LM and the WEC need until the new regs go into effect. |

Is Matteo Cairoli a Porsche factory driver? If not, he's certainly made a name for himself thus far.

Is there a night practice gallery somewhere?
As a driver in a GTE pro car, what does it feel like to lap Le Mans 3-5 seconds faster than you did at the test day? Is it really that easy to just have an on off switch to the tune of 5 seconds? That must feel like an eternity around the track. As if you've been switched from LMP1 to LMP2.... Last edited by Articus; 14 Jun 2018 at 00:56. |

Toyota is not even trying. Look at the Best Sector times here:
http://fiawec.alkamelsystems.com/ Both the #7 and #8 have identical "Ideal" and "Best" lap times...they went for exactly one "fast" lap and are up almost 2 sec. Quote:

I think everyone is holding back. Let's hope the weather plays nice and we can get some guys out there to gun it.

Looks like only Toyota improved their times significantly from free practice in q1.
So I expect a closer fight in the next sessions. If the weather is Right. |

Who has the script for this year's race?
How far will the Toyotas go this year? Will the second Manor Ginetta complete more than a lap? |

I'll go with scenario similiar to 2014. One Toyota repaired after driver error (own Or other)will reach the finish on podium(2 nd Or third)
The other will break down in the night. Rebellion wins. But I hope that all cars would get trouble and the fastest team in repairs would win. The lead would change multiple times. No proper retirements. That could be exciting. In the end I hope the 7 would nail It. But It is impossible imo In GTE I wish for close fight od Porsche and Ford plus Ferrari trying hard to join them. |

Interesting that Toyota also got pinged for excess fuel usage ......
Could make for some arguments come race day if there are a few long stop and goes handed out early on. Pleased to see the general reliability of both BR1 and Rebellions - a couple of the in-car shots of Jani, Lotterer and Button made for pretty good viewing. Jani especially looked pretty quick as usual. |

I guess that I am little split as to what I want to see ...........
Part of me thinks that Toyota deserve a little bit of luck and finally nail one ....... BUT ........ I really don't want to see a stage managed procession with no one else allowed to get anywhere near them. This is supposed to be a race, not one team's benefit no matter how much ££££ they have thrown at it. And in GTE Pro, if the ACO are going to continue to mess around with the BoP then they need to give everybody a fighting chance - adding 10kgs to the M8 and the Corvette that already appeared to be a long way off the pace, whist leaving the already dominant Porsche alone really doesn't appear to make a lot of sense to the average guy in the street! |

Is it too late for Corvette Racing to switch to the AM class, they would be pretty competitive there at 2 and 3?

Interesting that Paddy Power have the two Toyotas at 10/11 and 11/8, down through the other P1s, e.g. the Bykolles at 70/1 and the two Ginettas at 125/1.
Only discovered this when I went to place a small bet on Germany, I mean England, in the footie... |

Is there any GTE Pro that can’t do 14 laps on tires and fuel? Who suffers the most on the 14 lap max stints?

Based on theoretical best lap times, Rebellion should hopefully be capable of 3:18s, which is reasonably close to what Toyota so far have turned.
It should be noted that one Toyota did 342km/h during FP1, with the SMP BR1s also quick, but the Rebellions are down on top speed. Combined with their sector 1/3 times, that shows that they're carrying a ton of downforce. |
