JB Motorsport have once collaborated with a Japanese F3 team, INGING, in competing in Macau F3 GP etc. Plus, I believe that there were negotiations between JB Motorsport and Dome over the transfer of the 2003 German F3 Champion Joao Paulo de Oliveira, who raced for Dome in the 2004 Japanese F3 season.

I don't see the logic in lammers testing if they aren't letting him race it

Expereinced test driver with very good knowledge of Spa (unlike the Japanese driveres) who has been racing there in the last 2 weeks not good enough for you ?
You need benchmarks - the Japanese drivers learning the track are not a good point to start testing when you have limited time..... |

Actually based upon LMS times this year i think the Japanese drivers are probably quicker, they are damn good drivers just for a frst test you need some experienced to start the setup....plus they are probably trying to get him to buy one for next year

Any news on the test? Laptimes? Reliability issues? Impression of the car by Lammers? Pictures?

test report releashed under www.dome.co.jp/news/racereport/dt_383.html
If I understand the translation correctly they first have had some problems this the clutch. After solving this they were handicapped by the many slower cars in the circuit. But at the afternoon they reached a lap-time from 2.00.89 nearly 2 seconds faster than the Charouz Lola and on the same level as the Audi # 42 in the qualifying ( 2.00.796). Top speed was 308 km/h compared to 298 km/h of the Lola. They say they have reached this time easily ahd they are sure the car is able to reach a lap time under 2 minutes. Seems to be the Dome is the best gasoline car. Really impressive. Lets hope the best for Le Mans. |

Yes, Daisuke Ito has marked 2'00"89 by qualifying tires.
And the top speed was 308km/h. Peugeout was 309km/h, Lola-Aston was 298km/h. He didn't have the experience of driving at Spa-Francorchamps! |

Wow, that's encouraging!! Here's hoping they'll have the reliability and the race pace at Le Mans to beat the diesels

Impressive time indeed, although I note from the Planet Le Mans article that they report things slightly differently: "Apparently Daisuke Ito was able to put in some fast laps, with the quickest one close to the lap times of the Charouz Racing Systems Lola during the Le Mans Series weekend."
Wherever the truth lies, it seems likely we have another 'rocketship' on our hands. Roll on Le Mans, can't wait to see this car on track! |

I'll stick my neck out and be the first to put at virtual fiver* on pole at Le Mans**! *Cheques will not be honoured **Year not specified |
