Found the qually results here: http://www.tsl-timing.com/special/2009/93056.pdf, looks like it will be updated with race results later.
Some rain today but I didn't think it spoiled things, I think all sessions were at least partly dry. Looking forward to tomorrow's racing! |

Cheers GW, I had a bit of a search for them - back home I would know where to go straight away. There have been quite a few changes compared with the programme, so seeing actual results was very useful!
Today was good, the weather was perfect and lots of action in the racing. We spent some time at Abbey corner in particular. The only disappointment was the problems the Aussie Sauber-Merc crew struck, I thought they were in a strong position - oh well, perhaps tomorrow. |

For anyone that doesn't know, it's been shown live on Motors TV uk all day today and again all day tomorrow, oh the wonders of Sky +.
No doubt it'll be repeated next week. |

Great weather and great days races.
Few strange things.I thought the David Leslie Touring cars was for 90s Touring cars, but there were MK1 & 2 Escorts in it,Camaro,Various Capris, and a CSL BMW. Rather poor turn out I thought. U2TC were good, nice mix of cars in that. Looking forward to tomorrow. |

One weary but smiling Grey One here, after 3 1/2 days at Stone. In (MOSTLY) sunshine! Excellent.
Lots of high quality racing, with highlights like our very own Roger wills winning the Pre 66 HGPCA race on Saturday. This led to another Antipodean refugee giving him a picture of his Dad. For being Driver Of The Day, apparently! Oh, that picture was of Sir Jack, the refugee was David... Sometimes when constantly seeing modern stuff, you forget how much old cars slide. Glorious power drifts everywhere. One Mustang driver suckered the Luffield yellow flag waver several times with oversteer! Last edited by Tim the Grey; 26 Jul 2009 at 22:12. Reason: Oops. |

It's the best Historic meeting in UK and can improve.
The late 96 Tin Tops were always going to be poorly subscribed and can't understand the Harvey Death pretend Mini in the Mini race doing 2 12's. Harvey is a smashing bloke but still did not understand makeup of race as we were expecting door handle stuff between equal groups as it used to be in period. Was that RW's Mclaren in incident on Saturday night?Whoever it was he was bloody unlucky as a T70 was spewing oil out immediately in front of him on racing line. We had a mixed weekend with a straightforward win in the first race(very old bangers!) and downhill after that. The Lola in the Sports Car Masters was the disappointment as it was in a good third place when it decided to have a problem half way through. That is one superb race and deserves an earlier start time. The Simon D Turner looks good and spins well! |

yeh i was marshalling on luffield, jus spotted the oil coming from the t70 infront of him, signaled for the slippery surface flag, and BANG really unlucky, not a ncie incident

Well, the Death Mini made my 12-year-old's weekend, it's easy to look at things through a telescope and forget alternative viewpoints.
working as we were in the tented village we rarely saw racing other than the inside of Copse/Maggotts which isn't the most exciting, but still caught some drifting action up towards Becketts. So we missed a lot of the fun, but just got to enjoy the sight and sound of great cars being driven in anger. I'm know there's lots of attention to detail needed yet, but the festival is coming along nicely. It's in my (work) diary for next year already :-) JR - thought you were half way up an extinct volcano at the weekend communing with Tommy Simpson or have I mixed you with someone else? |

Initial thoughts only as I have loads of catching up to do. Fabulous weekend; didn't get to meet many Ten Tenthers of course as wall to wall racing on Saturday and Sunday, and I don't 'do' Fridays! I agree with JR's view on the Minis which I thought were the biggest disappointment of the weekend - not enough of them and swallowed up by the GP circuit. I agree also about the Death Mini too, a technical Tour de Force but it completely missed the point, although I can understand why a 12 year old would love it, and if it helps get youngster hooked, fair enough. I thought the Super Tourers worked better than expected mixed with the older cars which were by no means disgraced. The star for me in those races was the Gosser Beer liveried Batmobile of Roger Wills who I think raced in well over half the 21 races, so probably a record. Took thousands of pics, a few hundred of which will survive the cull, and a few of which I'll be sharing in my pictorial review. Some really close racing too, some of which involved Ten Tenthers including Simon H who had a couple of real ding dongs, and came away with a couple of top podium pots - I can't get much more accurate than that as I haven't even looked at the results yet! All in all an excellent weekend, so well done to everybody involved! More later!

For the Delta team this year was brilliant. So thanks to Nick Wriggley for organising the Three trucks to be parked together in Multi Preparers park.To be honest there were times when we had nothing to do as we weren't rushing from one tent across the paddock to another car and not annoying spectators with the scooters. For me the low point was pulling the Lotus 22 out of the FJ race as i was not happy with the engine.Ten years ago i would of had the motor out worked all night to fix the prob we did give it some thought but as i was only 6th reserve at the time decided not.!Sunday and i had a great race with Jim in his Lotus 17 and spent the whole of my drive dicing with Andrew Hibbert in his Lotus 11.We were running the 1098 and his was a 1500 so i would be all over the back of the car under breaking but loose ground down the straights. We won our class so Jim has another pot for his collection. Great fun.
I do hope the meeting was a success for the organisers and they have made a profit .As JR said best historic meeting of the year "well done everyone" |

Gutted that we had the centre fall out of a spark plug on the Sat race dropping me a cylinder on the rolling start... then on Sunday the mis-fire from Friday returned, must be hiding in the loom somewhere. We'd taken decision beforehand that even if we were limping we'd give it a crack and try and do some door-handling for the crowd so hope those who saw it/ on the TV thought I made a decent effort even if we were 7 secs slower than we should've been.
Cheers Rick |
