What about driving home at night - do you have to hang around for ages to avoid the traffic at that end of the day?
Last year we drove straight out on Friday & Saturday nights, Sunday took around half an hour to get out of the car park, and we then used the back roads to head north to the A5.

In the mornings we aim to arrive around 5-30am meaning leaving home @ 04-30

Thanks for that, that's not too bad, I think I will drive in every day as well. It would be a 4:30 start for me too, but infinitely better than little or no sleep under canvas. Ok, I know I'm not a real marshal if I don't rough it, but I want to enjoy the occasion as well, and quite frankly, I didn't enjoy last year at all, and that wasn't fair for my first F1.

Excellent, hadn't even thought of adding the race data. Brilliant.

Was at Force India this morning. Everyone there looking forward to GP. Popped into circuit too, starting to look good. Won't be there this year, so all you lucky people enjoy the weekend.

Hi!
Looks like there are only 5 of us there. I was expecting more marshals on a GP post tbh. Or is it a usually quiet post?

It's the bunker at the entry to the old pitlane - not room for many more

Had the pleasure of Woodcote Inside last year for GP. Great post as one of the closest places to the track. The post chief was across the circuit at the main post on the outside so you work as a small team supported from across the track.

Main tasks last year were cars slowing down entering the support pit lane and giving them a little push down the pit lane. Also last year we had the pleasure of a big screen in the small area of woodcote inside which reduced area to work in but did give some shelter....

Thanks Paul, I thought it was there. For some reason I couldn't post last night to say so?!? I've been there for Walter Hayes a few years back.

Anyway, it should be a brilliant spot.

I was there one year for the GP, its awsome. Just be careful though coz some of the time you'll have cars on circuit and cars coming down the pit lane. ENJOY.

Was there in last year. Its opposite the pit entry and a great place to see the cars trying to outbreak each other into the chicane.
