Unless, like my good self, you happened to spot it "just drivin' around" leaving the back entrance of the circuit. It didn't sound very special either.

(Editted for poor typing.)

A combined nice car/celebrity spot last night for me. Former Woolwich Arsenal and England association footballer Ian 'Wrighty' Wright driving a brand spanking new Porsche 997 turbo in black, just outside the St Marys Stadium in Southampton, where he'd come to watch his son, Bradley, who plays for us currently.

Anuauto has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Isn't being a Southhampton fan almost as bad as owning a Nisan Micra?

I don't understand how people with a road accident record like Wright ever get insurance at all at any cost!

He probably just pays a hell of a lot, but he can afford to.

Quick question - does a sighting count as "just drivin' around" if it was broken down on the side of the road? (well it appeard to be anyway) If so - today I came across a Bugatti Type 35! Now that is not something you see every day.

I know we normally mention supercars on this thread, but at the weekend I saw a car that I'd not seen in years, a real head-turner leading to discussion amongst the four petrolheads present. Ladies and Gents: The Austin Ambassador. In brown. And for fans of John Shuttleworth, it was a 'Y-Reg'.

I just seen the Orange McLaren F1 that was on 5th Gear the other week, sadly it was parked on the hard shoulder on the slip road off M1 J33 and was in the process of being loaded on to the back of a low loader.....

Another "not quite drivin' around" sighting then... lol

Truckosaurus I don't think I've ever laid eyes on an Austin Ambassador, and I don't feel disappointed by that either!

Saw a Bugatti Veyron on the motorway last week. Most impressive.
Other top sightings include Rowan Atkinson in his McLaren F1 on the M27 plus a real Ferrari 250GTO near Chichester.

Been a busy couple of days in terms of mildly-exotic car sightings, on Sunday a Ferrari 430 Spider, Lotus Elise (not that exotic they just really stand out on the roads & hadn't seen one for probably 6 months) and a ~10yo Bentley Turbo R.

Also saw an Aston DB9 on the way to work this morning, the second time I've seen one of those on the road. I still think they are too long and I'd have the V8 Vantage instead if given the choice lol.

I visited the Nurburgring Nordschliefe this weekend and indulged in an economical lap or two in my diesel Volvo.

Not much exotica on show, 911s were ten-a-penny, only 2 Ferraris (a 355 and an old 308GT4), 3 Gallardos, but the prize for 'best car' was a DB9 Zagato.

Bluebottle, should I know who Rick Parfitt is lol

That reminds me, in my earlier post I should also have listed a Ferrari 246 Dino - aren't they a fantastic car!

Nothing particularly notable in the last week, closest thing would be a Chrysler 300C SRT8

Yeah ok, I have heard of Status Quo & know some of their songs, I just thought he sounded like he should be one of those obscure (to an Aussie) Brit tv celebs like so many mentioned in the "what has your town given to the world" topic!

Seen quite a few mustangs recently. Not incredibly spectacular, but I don't often see them.

Are they LHD or RHD, old or new? Out here we have plenty of old ones, but few new ones due to having to be RHD - very expensive conversion on the newer models

Think I've seen one LHD and a couple of RHD, IIRC.
