Confirmation: Hezemans has bought a C5R and they will run it in FIAGT, with Mike Hezemans and Anthony Kumpen as drivers.

Err, is the C5R actually homologated for FIA GT? I thought there were too many issues under the regs for it to be entered, better bet for the LMES, surely, no changes to make to it and it would suit the circuits. Silverstone, Spa, Monza... hmmm.

It wasn't, but that problem is solved with the FIA/ACO combining regulations, so it's legal to enter now.

It is factual that the Corvette C5-R is not homologated, and is very unlikely at this point that GM would make the changes necessary for it to become homologated for FIA GT. Ratel stated some time ago his opposition for the C5R. |

The guy I spoke (good friend of Mike) said specificly FIAGT. Perhaps he will run it in G2 if they won't allow him to run it in GT1?

Another semi-confirmation (not official, but from a reliable source): Larbre is looking in to running 1 or 2 550's in FIAGT in 2005.

Hello this is my first post here! So forgive me if i'm writing the bleedin' obvious,
I remember reading, I think from Lister's website, they they were coming back with a vengance to FIA GT in 2005, with at least one of their cars, which would be new and built to new 2005 reguations. Given that FIA and ACO regulations are supposed to agree with each other in 2005, shouldn't that mean Lister have more options to enter their car in next year? They naturally want to focus on their prototype, but the Storm has been around since '95 (weather it be in old-style GT1 or GT2 format, British GT or FIA GT), I first saw it in '98 at Snetteron in the old Priviledge Insurance GT's, it's a lovely car, would hate to see it go! Everyone loves to see the Vipers around even though they are old, I love to see the Storm raging around! I also read in Autosport, I think, a while ago, something about possibilities of Corvettes running in FIA GT in 2005. Failing that, would love to see them in LMES. Never seen a top-notch 'Vette before. They have them in British GT's but they are practically silent, and very lame! I for one would also like to see some irregular cars become regular, like TVR T400r, Spyker, Morgan Aero 8, Panoz Esperante, Mosler, Ultima etc.. to give audiences more variety. Morgan and TVR are more likely than anything else for that though, but any news of anybody planning to enter such machines? |

then why was Uwe testing a Viper at Estoril instead of the Saleen? And Franz was in the ex Vitaphone Saleen (with all the vitaphone decals off it!) Italian (+ Autosport) sources indicate that AB will close the deal to run 2 Maseratis before Christmas..

no, it was a Racing Box Viper.
I think that Zakspeed thing was just a rumor. If AB get the Maseratis, they will probably run them out of the Jurgen Alzen shop. |

As for the Viper-Test I can only imagine that Uwe wanted to have a benchmark-test of that car. |

why should he want to benchmark a car wich is not competitive anymore?
I could imagine him driving the Zak Viper in the 24hour race. AB Racing wanted to race their Biturbo Monster in FIAGT last year but did not get the ok ..maybe they try again? The car seems much more at home there than on the Nordschleife..but then again..could they win with that one? |
