When I grew up there was no such things a "sports car racing" on TV (Indy 500, parts of ther Daytona 500 and Monaco GP) and "the big screen" meant a movie theater.
On the other hand, I had ADD, but it hadn't yet been named, defined, ridiculously wildly over diagnosed, and used as an excuse to dose kids with Ritalin. Not sure if I came out ahead there or not. I like endurance racing. BTCC is kind of fun to watch too. It is sort of like the difference between football and soccer; each takes a different kind of skill and finesse (you try ricocheting off of three cars, spinning the one in front of you so you can pass it, not spinning yourself and not getting penalized.) |

Baltimore entry list is up
http://www.imsaracing.net/2012/event...try%20List.pdf Pretty typical line-up for a street race. Missing from RA: - Dempsey LMP2 - PR1 LMPC - 2nd Green Hornet GTC - GMG GTC - NGT CTC Additions: - Performance Tech LMPC - 2nd TRG GTC The event logo has changed too with the obvious SRT/Viper sponsorship Last edited by Deleted; 23 Aug 2012 at 11:38. |

Too bad about Dempsey not being there, although with the Lola situation and the street course it isn't totally unexpected. I imagine Performance Tech will probably drop out. All the other regular players are there which is good. Fingers crossed Dyson gets through this race with no damage.

Dempsey's only doing part time season with the Lola so skipping this one was probably always in the plan.
Good to have second Dyson there again, you know seeing how horrid the pace of that car has been throughout the season it got me worried that they might pull it out at some point, but now that we only have three events left they'll probably do all the remaining rounds. Who knows what happens in Petit... if we don't get any extra P1s, #6 faces more mechanical gremlins and #16 keeps screwing things up well the #20 might just get lucky by being slow and out of harm's way. Hopefully the Vipers up their game a little for Baltimore. Especially the drivers... |

I would say it is 50/50 that an LMP2 car will win Petit at this point.

They went down 5 laps at Lime Rock (1.474mi), and made that up in 96 laps. That's 7.37mi in 141.504mi, or roughly 5.2% quicker over that stretch. Went down 4 laps at Road America (4.048mi), and made that up (almost) in 78 laps. That's 16.192mi in 315.744mi, or about... 5.2% quicker! So if they spot the field about 18 laps at lap 50 or so, we should have an exciting finish Obviously this depends on yellows... just roll with it |

They'll dial the Viper back again once it shows some pace and development.

They shafted the Vette straight up so the ACO/IMSA is a bit swings and roundabouts, IMSA knows the value of having Viper back so giving them some artificial pace while they develop the car is just them pandering to the mfger...just like they did BMW...

In the GT1 Vette the aluminum frame rails from the Z06 were not allowed, can't remember the reason, so they used the steel rails of the base model Vette. The GT2/E car is listed as using the hydro-formed rails of the ZR1. 2012 GTE specs from Corvette Racing Same site has specs for older chassis as well.

And? Porsche runs a super high rear wing, extended front splitter, 1200kg etc. It's called "balance of performance" for a reason. Maybe you want the Vipers to run 4 seconds off pace still? I don't. I really have a hard time understanding comments like these. The Viper was already at 1295kg, so with -20kg it'll still be 30kg heavier than the 1245kg base weight for the class. This shouldn't come as a surprise, really.
