I don't think it's a Red Bull. First it's too pink and if you look closely at the bottom pink section, it reaches the very bottom of the side of the car. Unless Porsche decided to cut the bull's legs, it can't be a Red Bull logo.
Whatever is on the RS Spyder (those pink boxes) is probably on the LMP1 imo. |

Probably something to do with the filming, see all of those green squares with white-ish circles in them... fenders, mid-body wings, nose, side pods...

And the color palette. The smaller "dots" remind of something what is often seen in making of docs of movies... CGI?

I'm not an engineer, but could the Spyder body be covering newer suspension components, and doing, as has been suggested already, some sort of baseline comparisons? One thing we don't see is what cameras Porsche probably have scattered around the track. |

Ha! People laughed at my efforts in compiling a flimsy Le Mans entry list about this time last year and yet you guys are taking these barely car-like photos so seriously?
Well you learn something new every day. |

Definitely pink tape holding on those colour palettes for whatever filming setup they have. You can see the squares of the palette on the rear wing endplate of the P1 in the motion-blurred side shot.

Not sure why would they need a fast LMP car for that... any crawling van can do that. Not to mention waste test time for that.
A laser scanning camera is usually much bigger than that one on the front of the RS Spyder and usually it's on a tripod. |

Some guerrilla sneaked into the bushes around Monza and made this clip, and posted it on Mulsanne's Corner's facebook page. Does not sound very nice at all.....

Too bad it's not a youtube vid because you only can see it when you're a member of the Mulsanne Corner facebookpage. All of the commentators on the video say the sound is terrible, and that motorsport is going down because of green politics.

I trust the videos will be posted sometime soon on Matteo Milani's YouTube channel as he is apparently the one who took those. |

The color boxes are for future color correction for really crisp cinematic effects.

updates from Monza
a friend that works for the circuit told me something more:
-Porsche will stay there 'till wednesday -very high level of security (also for people with service's pass) -not only in the paddock but all over the racetrack, inside and outside -a lot of man walking to control and roadblocks -they seize smartphone if you are in a not allowed area -not allowed also to take the laptimes -a lot of incompleted laps: car goes out and back without passing on the finish line -at h 17.30 they finished to run today (with headlamps seemed a 917 said) -sounds like a diesel engine -very low revs -it's difficult to understand what kind of engine and cilynders...seems corked To the technicians in this forum: could be that it's diffcult because uses the same red bull's asymmetrical exhaust blown diffuser so you have all right or all left cylinder banks and the hearing could be misinterpratated? |

Blown diffusers aren't allowed next season. Maybe they copy the cylinder deactivation, but not sure thats allowed either.

So you can record what you want from the outside, sounds like a good idea.
