Unless it's in Britain, as the diesel-powered MAP was at Le Mans in the 40s and the Cummins Diesel Special sat on Indy's pole in the 50s...

Didier Pironi and Jose Dolhem.
killed just over a year apart, Pironi in a power boat race on August 23 1987 and Dolhem in a plane crash on April 16 1988. |
