Bang on. I don't remember the exact figure, but when PT went to Monster asking for a full season sponsorship they calculated how much the exposure would be worth. I could probably dig it up somewhere, but well, it was a lot less than today's costs. To get a field that isn't made up of ride buyers there needs to be a good ROI for businesses.

Mutoh confirmed at N/H/L/ by Autosport.
I think Monster told PT that the exposure was worth like $900K for a full season. |

Latest rumours are that Mario Romancini is the driver being signed by Conquest for the full season, KV and D&R are in the process of splitting the assets of Vision. KV will run a 3rd full-time car for James Rossiter & Tomas Scheckter may be headed to a 3rd car at D&R, although whether this would be full or part-time nobody knows. Milka Duno is looking more likely to be the driver of the #18 Coyne car, Stargate Worlds has gone bankrupt so where this leaves Simona di Silvestro is unknown. HVM is supposedly also chasing Mario Moraes, dependant on funding. Jonathan Summerton has also posted on Twitter that he's on his way to Barber, possibly with some exciting news, so we may yet see him in a car this season. Here's hoping!

Yep, rumors for sure. Nobody knows for sure where Viso's seat is, Moraes' name hasn't been mentioned over here at all, and Summerton could just as easily be referring to an IndyLights ride.

ESPN Deportes (Latin American website) shows the broadcast beginning at 13:45 in Argentina and 14:45 in Uruguay. Since we will switch from UTC-2 to UTC-3 that morning to match Argentina, I guess that the schedule ignores that fact and the starting time is 13:45 UTC-3, or 16:45 UTC. So Sky Sports will broadcast it there a few hours delayed.

KV just answered on their Facebook page that E.J. Viso is a full time entrant.
It's not clear to me yet if there will be one more full time for them, or even two: Sato is obviously signed, and the talk about Rossiter continues. So HVM, Conquest, Coyne and 3G have nothing official yet to my knowledge. But the minimum number looks safe now! Edit: Yep, put KV down for two fulltime: http://www.facebook.com/notes/kv-rac...n/297215912254 |

This is what my list looks like today:
Conway Wilson Power Castroneves Briscoe Dixon Franchitti Tagliani Andretti Patrick Kanaan Wheldon Matos Viso Sato Meira Mutoh If you want to count the combined entries of SFR as ONE fulltime addition, fine. If you want to count RHR's half-season confirmations as a full season ride, fine. That's 19 by my count to date. |

No Milka (or indeed DCR) listed on the entry list for the Barber test this week (although neither is Panther/Wheldon so read into that what you will)

Live Streaming
Here's from IndyCar media today:
Streaming: 2010 Live Streaming will begin starting in Brazil. All sessions practice, quals and races including Firestone Indy Lights for the season will be streamed through IZOD IndyCar Series Race Control at http://www.indycar.com/racecontrol Live Timing and Scoring: For the Barber Open-Test you will have access to the new LIVE timing and scoring for all track sessions. And going forward in 2010 you will have easy access to watch Live Timing and Scoring or LIVE streaming at just a simple click of your mouse. __________________________________________________________ Don't know if it's free, but that might help some of you guys looking for the show. Weather at Barber is right on the edge: looks like people are leaving late and I read one blurb that said the test might be cancelled. Cos is right on he money, although there is an additional one car for KV, HVM and Conquest that appear on the test list with no assigned drivers. Other than that, the last driver list I put up is complete. |

James Rossiter is in Alabama, so presumably he'll be in the third KV Racing car.
Panther is going to Sebring for Friday and Saturday instead, and FAZZT is staying home. They are satisfied that their earlier Homestead and Sebring tests have them good to go. Edit: the streaming provided by IndyCar is free for all events, it just takes a no-cost registration. Supposedly the quality will be much improvved from last year. I'm satisfied about the entry list for Barber. I hope that all gonna be ok for that team in doubt. I had read that rumors about Scheckter and Conquest: this negotiation hasn't been successful, or we can see an alternance between him and Romancini during the season?

I hope Sato shows his fire and aggression.... I have a feeling that Danica will have an average year compared to her other seasons as she's finally got onto NASCAR.
At least Power is full time. |

However Curt Cavin of IndyStar repetead that Ganassi has the sponsorship for Rahal for 2011...what could it mean? How does Ganassi to be sure to get the sponsorship for 2011? I still believe that it is so sure because he will close the GrandAm program, as Penske did this year to secure a place for Power...however, the same Cavin said that Bobby could pay form his own pocket to field a car for his son...

i would hope a good if not great driver like rahal would avoid ride buying - do it once and there may be a danger of people expecting it to be the norm.
perhaps do a year of sportscars (or Superleague - intersport are running in that series this year, maybe a US soccer team is joining) them) |

John Edwards will not be competing in open wheel this year. What a shame. He should at least have an Indy Lights drive.
