My best time has been 01:37 with the BMW.
That's at least faster than Romanini in the warm-up in Brands. But it's far away from good realistic times. (Thompson 01:33.518 ) |

Well, it's better than demolishing the real lap records set by the pros.

braking for Paddock is the hardest I find when the car looses stability

Paddock is a tricky beast, it's hard to brake late as you end up going off. I often miss the apex at Graham Hill and run wide, losing bundles of time.
I know where im losing time, so i could go faster by a fair amount, im now into the mid 1.40's |

The Brands track model is a bit of disaster in my opinion, there are just so many things wrong with it its untrue.
Paddock, Druids, Sheene, Clark, Stirlings, all have quite significant inaccuracies. Very disapointed, I really wanted to buy this game too... |

However take a look at TRD3 for some truly hilarous attempts at track design... I won't be buying RACE if this Brands model is the final version. |

Ahh.... TRD3, i like it in a weird kind of way.
GTR2 track models are fab, a different team worked on RACE didn't they? |

..Unlike the Race demo, where it's so wrong as to be laughable.

At first, I also thought that Paddock Hill bend was way wrong in terms of elevation change.
However, I spun the car around before Druids just to be sure the elevation was not there... Well, IMHO, there is (mind you, just test it for yourselves). (There's a problem with FOV-Field of View- in simulators. I guess a normal and plain screen cannot give us the depth that there is in real...) |

Its not that there isn't a drop or that its just a minor error, its a massive miscalculation.
Both the line (the actual shape) of the corner and the drop from the top to bottom are wrong. The bump at the bottom of paddock (and on the way up to Druids) is very significant in the fact that its missing. For someone who has been to Brands Hatch, driven around it, and watched hundreds of hours of racing there over the years, it will seem very wrong to them. People say, oh its the angle, or its the FOV or TV cameras flatten the view, etc blah etc, however Spa's Eau Rouge looks correct in GTR2, and that has a big climb and drop... |

It's pretty odd that this thing's only supposed to be out next Friday?
(remembers back to GTR2 debacle) Hmmm, maybe not. Where's that G25... |
