Really encouraging 'winter' reports from the Creation camp..........
Strong second driver pairing in Hall and Pagenaud (I'm not quite sure where Shinsuke Yamazaki fits in, but Bicks' enthusiasm for Pagenaud would suggest he is the more likely full time partner for Stuart Hall). 3,000kms covered in three days of testing at Estoril with just one small (and quickly fixed) clutch issue. JCW offered no discernable difference which couldn't be explained simply by the 3% restrictor increase between the AIM engine and last year's Judd. Yes, the engine is new, but for once Creation have a winter to simply develop and improve their car rather than trying to get to grips with an all new package. I have high hopes for the team this year and fully expect the car to be on terms with the Pescarolo's from the outset. (Source: DSC) |

Expect for the new engine has the car changed? Will there be an aerodynamic update?

Everybody is ignoring the hint of those teal cam covers though! Things could change, but it also could reflect a lot of spare metallic blue available right now for interim liveries.

I found it interesting that the CA07 is being built by RTN, at least according to an old news article on Mulsanne Mike's site.

What does the new V-10 sound like? At Paul Ricard LMS testing with Dunlop tires http://motorsport.com/photos/lms/200...rt-am-0008.jpg Interview with Ian Bickerton http://translate.google.com/translat...e.php?sid=5020 Last edited by bil588; 3 Mar 2008 at 05:35. |

Bickerton tells me that Autocon is indeed still using their CA06/H monocoque for Sebring despite the entry list's "CA07-002" claim. The move to EPM means the new tub won't be complete until March 7 or thereabouts. RTN's shut down is a shame, though life goes on.

Endurance-Info.com interview with Ian Bickerton ('Google' translated into English which has led to some rather dubious phraseology) covering the results of their test at Ricard, particularly with regard to the Le Mans bodywork. They will take the car into the windtunnel in May to fine tune the aero package prior Le Mans where they expect to pull more than 330kph on the long straights. The article also reveals that Simon Pagenaud will indeed be unveiled as their fourth driver in due course.
With due respect to Felipe Ortiz, a JCW/Hall/Pagenaud Le Mans driver line-up in what is clearly now a very quick car would be mouthwatering, wouldn't it? |

Well yes! I assume Ortiz is a much-needed source of funding, but he does seem a bit of a liability. I don't think you can expect to win anything these days with a gentleman driver unfortunately, unless he's a very, very good one!

What happened with the plans to make a closed prototype after 2006?

I thought that was on the cards for the second year of the AIM project, ie 2009. Wasn't it touted as one of the reasons for going for a wider angle V in the engine?

I think the engine deal is for three years exclusive use so they would have a few years to get the project going.
I am happy they have not overdone it as they seem to getting somewhere with the new car. |

And if it manages to look like the artist's impression then it would be the best looking coupe so far!
