So no more P1 chassis, but a drivetrain is fully available there. Hummmm, hopefully some teams in WEC will buy P2s other than Oreca 03.

It is a shame as they clearly could afford it if they wanted to!

Their concentration is F1 it seems. Funny though, if Nissan joins the wec next year you gotta wonder, "where's Honda?"

With both Toyota and Nissan running in WEC in the future, Honda is really missing from the party.
Very much like when it was only Mercedes and Audi in DTM. |

Cool.... I'm excited to see a new closed-top car.
Also the article mentions they had a P1 car ready to manufacture but there wasn't enough interest. |

Very probably the 2015 lmp2 is a reworked lmp1 with the V6 HPD engine (or maybe the 3.5 that is going to debut in the starwork riley DP)

If Honda were to go fulls works LMP1 in WEC it would orchestrated by Honda Racing not HPD. I hope you guys know that HPD and Honda Racing are two separate entities.

I didn't say HPD was testing the 2015 F1 engine!HPD will be helping with the testing and development of the ERS,Turbo Design and Cooling(the three biggest challenges of the new F1 Engine) to help and better understand the tech. The engine is the easiest part(don't need a lot of testing) of the new F1 Power-Unit.HPD will be using the HR22t to test the new tech and that will help HondaF1 Racing. And if more manufactures join P1,Honda will follow but first they are putting all their might to the F1 Power-Unit and McLaren. |

Well, it is applied on the current ruleset. If Honda can successfully lobby a change of rules in the upcoming GT regs, hybrids can be raced internationally.
Oh yeah, and if hybrids are allowed, that means the NSX will be raced anywhere while the CR-Z will be relegated to Super GT. |

It does make sense to allow hybrids. Almost all of the biggest manufacturers have a hybrid car. And if the ACO wants to racing a bit greener, they need hybrids. Don't think it will be mandatory, for example Aston Martin and SRT doesn't have a hybrid car at the moment. I also don't think the hybrid option has to be on the road car. I do see the likes of BMW switching to the BMW i8 for racing, or turn the M4 into a hybrid race car. The Porsche 911 (991) already has room for an electric engine in the road version and Porsche already raced with an hybrid car in ALMS (unclassified).
