Are there any other areas of Brands Hatch where can you see almost the entire Indy circuit other than Paddock Hill Bend?

Bit of a cock up by the team. It's pretty obvious that start of session means the start of Q1 overall not just your part otherwise you're getting longer to work on your car than the guys out first.

We've got a separate thread to discuss round 1, can we keep comments about Donington in that

Did anybody watching on TV this weekend notice on Ash Sutton's on board camera his bonnet flexing down on the straights and flexing back up under breaking? And is this new for this season?
The Focus bonnets did seem a little bit prone to coming loose after they had a had knock, I wonder if that's linked to the way they have designed the bonnet to flex. |

Touring car bonnets sometimes do flex, some more than others. Not sure if they're designed to do that or if it just a by-product of other design elements.

Jake Hills bonnet did flex down quite a bit in one of the rear view cameras from another car. I believe it’s due to some of the “reinforcement” underneath being removed.

If you watch this slow motion video from Croft testing you can see lots of bonnet flexing on those cars and others, and something I'd never seen before, windscreen flexing too!

Is there any chance of a mid-season tyre test this year?
Do they always announce those before the season? |

My B bonnet does that because I’m basically like Adrian Newey.

No, not really. Unless you’re copying but not knowing why.
Loss of weight could in theory be a contributory reason, but if the deflection was aero performance negative that loss in weight would only add lap time. If you add DF/reduce drag and it weighs less could obviously be advantageous though. |

I remember the bonnet on the 888 Vectra (Dave Newshams in particular) used to flex badly under braking but it certainly didn't look beneficial to aero
