Who are they?

Everyone is monitoring?

Andretti dropped out because things are not settled.

ESM not sure of their 2015 plans?

No Prototype Hybrid initiatives in TUSC.

Seems to me that "HPD heading to WEC" is a pretty accurate assessment.

HPD is a mfger, not a racing team, so HPD heading to WEC is wrong anyway. HPD chassis' may head to WEC however (wasn't there a European team looking at getting one or two?).

But can you believe the people(Andretti team member) who whisper that to my ear or the Honda PR guy Jack?(who is paid to give wrong info or no info)
Where? Briscoe and Charlie make up the "B" team. TK & Dixie on the "A" team. If anything why wouldn't HPD keep him at SPM and let them expand into TUSC?

Who ever is after Pagenaud has a big wallet to pay him a very good wage.
The rumor was that he would replace Briscoe in 2015 then move to the Target Car in 2016.And Target is the wallet in the move.(they want him because they think he is the best driver in the field)

And if you watched the race last night, why would he stay with SPM.

Lots of rumors of Pagenaud to Andretti as well---general thought is he has too much talent to stay at SPM. And Andretti Autosport is Honda-powered--but definitely going to TUSC.

And Maybe Tracy Krohn will buy a Ligier (Oak) for TUSC ... and beach it repeatedly .

I think we can count on one ESM at NAEC rounds in 2015, so North American fans will get at least one new HPD coupe at least now and then.

Beyond that, not sure why anyone would run a P2 in TUSC.

Andretti is not going to TUSC. At least in P form, unless something else has popped up I've not heard.

ESM will likely run NAEC only. ELMS for the rest. They want LM, the only way in is AsLMS, ELMS, or WEC.

Don't expect a strong P2 presence unless major changes happen to the DP/P2 balance.

The P2s aren't getting enough support here in the states from manufactures.

Or it's the complete inverse, and NASCAR panders to the Manu's to keep giving them money...

It's still a cheap investment for them to put a sticker on a car, and run some ads....having said that, i'm off to the dealer to buy a V8 Camry.

That being said, it's not like the P2 is any purer in that aspect... Lola "Mazdas", Oreca "Alpines", Oreca "Caterhams", Oak Pescarolo "Morgans", Oak "Ligiers", Kodewa Judd(/BMW) "Lotus Pragas" and so on

While the DPs might not have much to do with the things they're supposedly representing in DP, at least there is some of their DNA in the cars such as "Corvette DP", other than just names... there is zero Alpine about Alpine

The P2 Lola-Mazda is very definitely not a badge job--the factory has been working on that motor (through SpeedSource) for a couple seasons already, and it is about 70 percent off-the-shelf Mazda parts. Mazda racing director John Doonan seems to be at every event supervising the garages and drivers or whatever he does there.

Chevy and Ford both supply parts for their motors and Chevy paid for wind-tunnel time to co-develop the bodywork. HPD is an actual branch of Honda.

All the other P2 stuff (Caterham-Zytek, Oreca-Alpine; Lotus-Praga, Oak-Morgan, Oak-Ligier) is all purely financial--and what's wrong with that?

U.S. manufacturers are getting as much as they think they can get out of the Prototype class right now. They aren't more involved because the audience is small, so return on investment is low. They are in NASCAR because people watch NASCAR. No need to look for conspiracies--racing is justified to corporate accountants as promotional spending, and there isn't much promo value in the P-class right now.

There isn't much (live) air time either, the amount of tv coverage that Nascar gets is more than overwhelming - even during the week, making it virtually impossible to attract new sportscars/road racing fans,

Just a clarification of post 3181---supposed to say Andretti is NOT going to TUSC.

"And Andretti Autosport is Honda-powered--but definitely [NOT] going to TUSC.:"

Computers can spell-check, why can't they fact-check? Oh, because the Internet would shut down. Got it.

Video of the ARX-03b in action I shot at IMS during the IMSA race. A few great shots of Ryan Daziel abusing some kerbs during qualifying.

Gonna miss it, what a beautiful machine... this generation's 962 IMO.

Honestly, while I'm gonna miss these open tops a little bit, 02 and 03 gens were/are kinda meh to me...

ARX-01 variations had the looks and power. The real crime was the 01e, which we only got to saw once!

Lovely. The only petrol car that had any saying against the diesels for a long time (before and after). Seeing it perform as amazingly as it did with Highcroft was probably the biggest performance related surprise since another HPD related story, ie the total shock that was de Ferran catching the pole from Audi and Pug in Sebring 09.

From Marshall Pruett

Three teams could run HPD's ARX-04b P2 Coupe next year. Two to ESM,and two single-car entries could be on the grid in IMSA.The other two ARX-04b are expected to race in WEC.

HPD techs are in England at the moment doing the wiring for the ARX-04b and it should be done in October.ESM will get it first then tear it down and rebuild it,first test should happen in November.

I have a few candidates in my mind:
-Starworks, the DP was a little bit disaster
-Gainsco, they will need a new car if they get back
-RSR
-Race Performante wants a second car
-Racing Engineering
-an unexpected big surprise (like any team switching their class)
