Anyway, not totally surprising to see the Audis head the session after likely working on race setup until the very end (or until the end). Good-looking dice at the front of the field, and while Porsche is 1-2 in GT2 it's nice to see 2 Ferraris, a Viper and a BMW filling out the top 6 in that class. |

Bergmeister did a 2:01.8 at WDWT wonder if we will see lower times in Qualifying.

My ears!
Hindy! You changed from a barely audible interview to a new segment that sounds like a pre-recorded Sebring preview that was LOUD! With my headphones cranked to hear the dodgy chat, the new section scared the crap out of me. I am shocked at the pace of the P2 Acura and the GT2 Viper. I think I was lulled by the Dyson\Mazda P2 times while the Acura did not come out for the early practices. I read a quote from Monday about one of the Viper drivers not being familiar with the car, they apparently just drove it for the first time this week. We may be seeing the Viper being properly jockeyed for the first time. whew!!! This is where I'll be complaining on Saturday about BLACK cars. There is a Black Vette, a Black Viper and a Black Panoz. Unless the camera is framed on them, it will be difficult on the TV to tell what each car is...(old whine...sorry....) ((dang! where did these smilees come from??))(((we need some Proto versions of this type doohicky))) |

Correct and not correct. Ritchie Holt, 3rd driver in the Primetime Viper, is getting his first taste of the car this week. He has experience as a club/amateur Viper GTS-R racer. Chris Hall, one of the regular drivers, was the fast man in this session before Holt took over, so it's nothing to do with it being 'properly jockeyed for the first time'.

A return of the batmobile
Can anyone explain the advantages of putting the engine in the front? They can use bigger tyres in the front (like Acura), but other than that I don't see any. I seems to me Panoz wants to be different just for the sake of it... |

Well , to be honest , he did a pretty decent job with his front engined car before . Not much beat it in ALMS except for the Audi R8 and BWM V12 LMR .....and that was against works efforts .
Maybe he has something new up his sleeve ..... and if he follows what Pug , Audi and Acura has done , he may never beat them at all ..... so he is trying to be differant . More power to him . |

Thanks for the VICI info, it made me go look at DSC for new stuff even though the RSS feed wasn't updated!
Seems that Elan couldn't/wouldn't do the Peugeot tub fix, but Dennis Spencer did. So we have a de facto Spencer entry at Sebring! |
