No such problems over here Gordon, been very mild and dry mostly, sometimes a little snow flurry that soon fizzles out or some light rain that lasts a hour or so. Very odd weather systems here, 13 deg for Saturday, perfect for a "little drive in the country".

Can I rub it in (again) - still having to cope with no rain although it did cool down to only 34C today, just right for a spot of lunch near Canberra. Local weather forecasters spend more time apologising about no rain due.

Only negative so far, a friend over here offered us two FREE Bruce Springsteen tickets for a concert which takes place one day after we leave! Might see about changing flights though.

On a car note - Toyota have announced they will be closing their car plant in Australia in the next few years same as Ford and Holden, so there will be no major car manufacturers left here. Great shame for local manufacturing.

I was looking at the report of the sink-hole on the M2, and it said "engineers are looking into it" !!!

I had similar in St Louis back in 2002 . . .got offered tickets to see Chuck Berry in his local club there . . .5 hours after I flew to Cincinatti ( which was dull as ditchwater)

I heard the government are building new lighthouses, in Somerset.

I'll settle for that forecast you posted!

Sink hole on M2- It was funny on BBC TV news this morning when the voice over commented that engineers were investigating the cause. 'Possibly something to do with all the rain' was the approximate and dry response from Bill Turnbull as the camera went back to him. Sure I could see his eyes rolling as well......

Just had email to confirm that Delta, Gilbert and YT are accepted for the Spa6 in Sept. Soon as we get some dry weather I can get the rebuilt oily bits run in!

Talking of sink holes did you see what happened at the Corvette museum in the states, a sink hole opened up and swallowed some priceless Corvettes! Love or hate Yanks this is tragic.

Yes, that is sad. Hopefully they are repairable.

Subject change again- Is Ebay so resource / memory / whatever hungry nowadays it is a lot slower that used to be, or is it that my PC is falling behind? Seems better on ipad. Full version, not mobile......

No problems here. Have you tried switching off and on? Works wonders for me! Try it in another browser as well.

I find the mobile version on iPad slow, Android on my phone is much better

My eBay viewing seems acceptable on the 2 PC's I mostly use. The older laptop is not very high spec being about 7 years old now I suppose.

The newer one is a much higher spec and has fast SSD, etc.

Advert serving seems to be the main cause of slow speeds as far as I can tell. Connection speeds over the 'net rather than what happens on the machine UNLESS there is something going on with the virus checking software in the PC. But the anecdotal evidence, based on how things look with my new faster Broadband connection, suggests that the ad serving servers can be problematic for all browsed sites. Not always, but quite often.

Hey Gordon, your a clever bloke.When I was 14 back in 1967 I was Berkshire Junior Archery champion.Anyway enough bragging but I did get my picture on the back of the Sunday Times. The kids were asking me the other day about it.
Would love to find a copy of the artical, Been on the net but just dont have the time to sort out. Any clue's mate.
