Just out of interest, what is Russfeld's objection to the use of the word "sponsor" to describe sponsorship activity in anything less than F1? Please?
Also, I've thought of another reason why doing National Class F3 is better than doing FRenault or a Spanish or Turkish F3 or something. It's this: You're in inferior machinery to your Championship class lads, but you get the chance to mix it with them, and show just how much better you are. Admittedly, that wasn't the case much as often in 2004 as it had been in previous years (and that could be a reflection on the quality of entrants), but you show me an occasion where someone could generate the kind of interest in FRenault or Spanish F3 that, say, Adam Carroll did on a regular basis in 2002 - or even Robert Dahlgren did by grabbing overall pole in the same year. Back to topic now please... and maybe I'll give y'all an exclusive, if you ask nicely..., |

Fluid Motorsport were at Snett on Tuesday, otherwise that's about it at the moment.
There may be one or two more at Silverstone on Monday or Snett on Wednesday. Offhand, I can think of one other probable deal, plus three possibles, one of which would be very good. |

erm, comtec have had red bull backing for at least 5 years now one way or another, it's not a personal thing in the slightest...

Ok, I wasn't aware of this. Is she still associated with Comtec now, even though she's with ADR? This is a very recent photo to promote the Scottish Motorcycle Show.

Michael Herck tested at Silverstone on Monday. According to Motorsport News a week or two ago, he will only be doing selected BritF3 rounds, probably the ones that run with the LMES. Certainly Spa, because he's Belgian.
Despite the races abroad, it makes no sense for a European team to do the whole BritF3 season without a base in the UK. |

Hey Foxy, Herck won the Spanish Formula Junior AND Italian Formula Renault Monza titles last year (same category, just different names) from his base in Belgium or Luxembourg (not sure which). And those countries are a LOT further away for him than the UK!

As I said, he'll do some Brit F3 races but not all. He wasn't 'caught' testing in the sense that he tried to do it on the quiet. The team has been very open about everything. He's trying to 'do a Piquet' and conquer the world with his own team, which ain't the easiest thing in the world to do, but good luck to the kid.

I think he was testing but the teams agreed that it was Ok because he wasnt using Avon tyres or on a track that is on the Brit F3 calender.

this is just the start of a hanfull of problems. This guy did all kind of things like that in Spain last year, he is so polemic and uses all that he can think to win the championship, most of them right on the line of legality... it worked ok for him last year. Trust me, is going to be interesting to see the new tricks that they will play...
Last year he had a profesional driver in the other car paid to protect his son, engines that came from a different place, all kind of legal tricks to get the championship... I am going to have fun enjoying those mental exercises... |
