Sounds like an entertaining trio of races at Brands on the weekend, all three races won by less than half a second. Russell has extended his lead in the championship, he looks a decent pedaller already.

I've been meaning to post here for a while. This series is a bit of a gem isn't it. I only saw one race highlights on TV last year and was amazed by the racing. How can single seaters follow each other that closely? It is possible afterall! This is how F3 racing should be. I'm watching more of the races this year and enjoying it more and more. I only know a few faces but it's great watching wheel to wheel racing everywhere you look even if unfamiliar with who is at the wheel.

The highlights are really fun to watch. Plenty of talents in the series, and the racecraft isn't too bad for a first-step-out-of-karts series.

Cracking weekend of races, good fun to watch from the speccy banks although a couple of safety cars in the Sunday races disrupted the flow slightly.
Double win for Will Palmer, he was pretty impressive on the weekend and a first win for Arjun Maini as well. Pretty open championship race now it seems! |

The double win for Palmer resulted in some PR from MSV in the official website, although that isn't surprising...

They also ran stuff on Maini's win as well to be fair. In fact I'm sure I regularly see F4 race reports on the MSV website. They may as well I suppose...

What nobody realised (including me) is that the races this weekend at Oulton Park are taking place today and tomorrow, instead of tomorrow and Sunday.
Russell claimed pole for Race 1 and stormed to the win. |

Lanan win all 3 races in the weekend with Maini and Moore winning today.
Sounds like a bit of championship controversy in the last race with Hyman and Russell colliding. Palmer right up there now. |

Sounds like Russell ran wide and Hyman trying to pass him and they collided. We'll have to wait a week to see it...

TV cameras didn't catch the start of the incident. Hyman has a grid penalty for the next round at Silverstone, but it probably won't harm him too much, especially if it's wet.

Karters Omar Ismail and Harri Newey, the son of a certain Mr Adrian, tested BRDC F4 cars over the past week.

Well, the second Silverstone meeting is this weekend, and guess who's come along? Alex Palou from the Euroformula Open series! He's a proven race winner in that category and took pole for race 1 of this season's Euroformula race there. It's just that a) he doesn't know the car and b) he's with SWR, who's results haven't been particularly impressive, although the drivers haven't been brilliant. It will certainly be interesting to see if he drag the car into the Lanan/HHC battle that looks likely to resume at the front of the grid within 3 days of driving the car.

Just seen that Formula Ford team Meridian Motorsport have made the switch to BRDC F4 and have taken Connor Jupp and Jai Nijjar over with them! Interesting development... I make that 22 cars this weekend at Silverstone.

Sennan Fielding took pole and just held off Struan Moore for the win. Arjun Maini just held off a very impressive Alex Palou for 4th.
HHC-Lanan-Lanan-SWR-Lanan-HHC. This is Palou's second day in the car, and he's right up with the top 2 teams. Might, mighty driving. Kudos also to Fielding for getting his first win, and Raoul Hyman for charging from 15th to 6th, this time without the weather to help his talent out. Will Palmer was a first lap casualty. Tomorrow will be another good day. |

Fielding won all three races at Silverstone, each one by less than half a second. Sounds like it was pretty exciting, the ITV4 highlights should be good next week!

Lot of news from this championship recently. Following on from Meridian's switch from Formula Ford, Radical winners Mectech Motorsport have also joined the series too. And then yesterday Caterham F1 announced a deal with Sean Walkinshaw Racing. Bodes well for the future!

Further news is that the championship will switch to a carbon monocoque chassis in 2015 or 2016 in order to take advantage of the MSA's relaxation on minimum aged drivers (and to compete directly with FIA F4/Formula Ford). MSV will buy back all of the existing cars for use within their racing schools.

London bus syndrome. You wait ages (a year longer than Italy) then two come along at once! Only in Britain my friend.

I guess BRDC F4 had to do something otherwise the talented karters would end up in FIA F4 nee Formula Ford - and the experience car days gets refreshed with something relevant, even if de-tuned, fitted with cheaper gearbox.

They want Lando Norris. That's basically that.

Next year Callum Ilott will be 16, Norris, Ahmed, Fewtrell and Ticktum all 15. There will be quite a competition for these guys, Norris is only the tastiest piece, although Ahmed looks mega as well. Force India youngster Jehan Daruvala will also be old enough to race, I expect he will start in England.
