why does BMW usa get +0.8 and bmw europe 1.2, if by their own admition it is the exacly the same car. this is proof of obvius ACO favoritism of the BMW,
I get why porsche got theirs, but can someone plz explain to me why corvette got a restrictor break, in the only two races before le mans that they races they came in 2nd. bmw came in first. gave BMW a 30bhp addvantige over other teams, they could have just given them the trophy and save us all the farse. this is a great testament to Ferrari/Michelotto engeneering and construction expertise.
out of 9 manufacturers only their cars have apsolutly no adjustments what so ever, making them the benchmark |

I just hope the Ferrari, Porsche, and Corvette teams beat the living daylights out of the Bavarian Dentist Favourite Taxi Cab come race time.

Dont worry, BMW will probably go cry off to German Sleeping Pill Masters next year (might even see more than 2 overtakes) whether or not they win or (most likely) loose. So you wont have to worry about the taxi cab for long. |

If you're a Porsche fan you should be much more upset about the overall width waiver the 458 has. Less load transfer = softer tyres = grip = fun = unhappy Porsche... Ben |

here is how their development went. lets build the fastest race car we can build, not paying any attention to the rule book. once we build it go to the ACO/IMSA tell them look we have lots and lots of cash, you want it let us race. then once they are alowed to race, and they realise how slow they are, they go back to the ACO and say look you want more cash give as abnormal restrictor sizes so we can dominate. I mean we did pay a lot, its only fair to doiminate. how abnormal the restrictor. normal restrictor for the 4l engine is 28.6 , 3.8l 28.8 ...... the restrictor BMW uses is 29.8 thats a biger restrictor then the smallest engine in the class uses. and the one's that suffer are Porsche, Ferrari, Corvette. because people look at the results and say oh look those sportscars are nohing special if a plain bmw can beat them. |

Even on the south side of Atlanta I wouldn't consider the new M3 to be common as muck, actually seen more ZR-1s(4), 911s (14, including 3 GT3s), Aston Martin (2 Vantage, 2 DB9s), Ford GTs (2 new and actually 1 real GT40) and well prob 4-5 Z06 or base Vettes on a daily basis to only 1 hardtop and one hardtop convertible M3. On the non-LM appearing cars, 2 SLS in my neighborhood alone (is a beautiful car on the road) Boxsters a plenty but surprisingly few Cayman, and about 100s of 3 series sadly almost all 4 doors and FEW 330s/335s.
Although I will admit I'd rather see BMW rebuild a real Z8 or Z4 with the new M3 engine in it to really have a go at GT racing. It just would look more in line with the rest of the field than the extremely tweaked 3 series. Would be like GM showing up with the CTS-V, oh wait they did that in the SCCA. |
