Interesting that MB have dropped the Motorbase name for the cars driven by Osborne and Neate. They could have easily named them 'Motorbase with Wera & Photon Group'. Maybe they never wanted to keep the name...

What has MB got to do with the naming of the Osborne and Neate cars.

I'm pretty certain the poster is referring to Motorbase being sold to Shaun Hollamby and Pete Osborne, with all four cars (MB and Motorbase) now operating from the same premises.

Motorbase BTCC team acquired by rival outfit

And the fact that MB Motorsport refer to the 'combined effort':
https://www.markblundellmotorsport.com/ - 'Combining Mark Blundell’s three decades worth of experience at the highest level of international motorsport with the race-winning, on-track operation of Shaun Hollamby's and Pete Osborne's, Motorbase Performance, MB Motorsport aims to step up another level in the British Touring Car Championship in 2021 after a fantastic debut season last year.'

BTC and Crees part ways... didn't expect that tbh! Shall we start predictions who'll step in? I guess BTC's phone is red hot now...

As expected, wonder what's behind the story.
Actually first name that comes to my mind is Senna Proctor. Anyone knows what he's been up to? I've got an impression he was keen to continue in the BTCC.

I’d assume there was a non complete clause involved but wouldn’t it be great if Cammish sacked the Porsches off and went to BTC?

Oh yes, that'd be awesome!! Completely didn't think about it and I'm afraid it's a bit too late for this. But would be awesome.

I don't know where all this clamour for Cammish to be able to take up every and any vacant seat is coming from. The entire reason he isn't on the grid is because he doesn't have the money.

As for the reason why Crees is out, it could well be similar to the withdrawl's last season, whereby his backing requires hospitality/spectators that aren't going to be present.

He doesn’t have the backing for a TD seat but the BTC seat will be cheaper. He’s obviously got money or he wouldn’t be driving a Porsche. I know I can’t afford it.

Didn't he have money or did Dynamics lost too much of a backing and Dan's backing wouldn't be enough? Maybe Cataclean is giving them more than Cammish's backers and that's why he had to part ways with them?

I'm not saying Dan is a safe bet for a BTC seat, quite on the contrary, I don't think he'll get it but it's quite obvious his name shows up in this case. And I haven't seen him being mentioned in other cases.

However, I'd go for Proctor, Thompson or somebody completely out of BTCC planet.

Agreed I think Proctor has to be in with a good shout, closely followed by Bobby T, though I imagine it will be a race of chequebooks!

It doesn't quite work like that, sadly. Certainly, in the BTCC, he had Honda UK footing some of the bills, and that's ain't around no more.

Isn't Proctor's main backing through family money (companies)? If so it should be just a message in the Proctor family whatsapp group and a call to BTC?

I'm calling Rich Energy shenanigans. No evidence but somebody has to mention it first.

I also thought about him especially as he was hinting at some big things after the season ended and then went silent. I have no idea what's happened but my impression is he still has backing to make BTCC.

Crees out of BTC Racing

Did the Cheque bounce? Seems odd to ditch a driver after the media day and before the first race.

Just piecing together, and none of this is certain but speculation.

Cammish was/is backed by Yuasa, and with them moving their sponsorship elsewhere he has followed.
Crees was backed by Rich Energy in 2020, and they have moved their sponsorship elsewhere (PMR).

So without the backing of Rich Energy - is it possible that he is now short of funds to pay for a BTC seat - but Cammish may be able to find enough backing?

Or - wild card - "After much consideration we have sadly pulled out of the Goodyear Touring Car Trophy for this year,” Neal said. “A new fresh opportunity has recently come about for us at the end of the year, which will be announced at some point over the next few months. We sadly can’t justify doing both and this new opportunity is just too good to miss out on."
