Great to see Westbrook in there and confirmation that BMW will still have 4 works cars; Schubert really need to up their game a bit (although did have a decent run last year in the end).

Do we know of Mercedes' Pro plans for this year's 24 hour race yet?

Depends if Mercedes run the new car or not. If not I don't think they'll put much into it. Although with Haribo and Black Falcon in the mix they should be ably represented. That said though losing HTP will hurt.

Also the running cost would be very high, but if all of this can be worked out the car could even run in one of the four classes for historic race cars.

Screw the historic classes, I'm sure ADAC could and would accomodate them for special SP category if they asked nicely. But anyway, this is VERY intriguing.
The Maserati MC 12 could be in SP-X or E1-XP but is difficult to see it in VLN.

Wasn't it just there for a joyride? Every video of it at the Karussel showed it taking the wide line and not going into the concrete section to avoid possible damage.

It appears that Bartels was stretching the cars legs with no intention to race the car in VLN but hey dreamers are going to dream-and I'm one of them!

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but have we heard any more about whether Bentley will be doing some VLN and the 24h this year? It's fine very quiet since last year, as far as I can tell.

Good to see Bleekemolen getting a seat and I'm guessing Lance David Arnold has left the Mercedes fold?

Pretty cool to see Bentley hiring a couple of guys (unfortunately still no woman) whose second home is the Nürburgring. It validates VLN as a high level racing series.

Thanks, I appreciate the nice words We'll be doing that a whole lot more this season: all VLN races, N24, bunch of Blancpain GT races (the Belgian rounds, Monza, Nürburgring), all European FIA WEC events starting with the prologue. You're doing well, Miguel!'

Btw.: One week before the VLN-start was a bit snow today in the Eifel at the RCN-series. Not easy to drive @ Hohe Acht.

Why couldn't they have thrown the Glickenhaus cars to SP-PRO instead of SP-X? Would've given them some in-class competition (both parties)

Probably more than meets the eye. Rumour was that the car was carrying GT3R parts last time out, but it would kinda surprise me if VLN would allow a prototype to be run in SP7. Then again, stranger things have happened.

For those who are interested, an interview with Jeroen Bleekemolen about his upcoming Bentley debut: http://www.gt-report.com/2015/03/25/...-with-bentley/
