EastonNeston should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
92 Paul Evans
93 Jamie spence
94 Duncan Vercoe

98 Phil Scifleet? an Aussie guy who didn't race much after winning the series.
Remember Takuma Sato did a few races in National Class.

Fortec have the following confirmed drivers for F3
Alex Lynn
Felix Serrales
Pipa Derrani
Hannes Van Assendonk
Also Scott Pye has a deal to drive for the team, if he can find the funding.

Oli Rowland is in the FR Eurocup team with Ed Jones, Martin Cao and Mikko Pakari.

Full details of all the Fortec drivers can be found at www.fortecmotorsport.com

Richard isn't supposed to be Cassidy in Euro FR instead of Cao?

Just kidding about EastonNeston being RD of course

It was when he turned up mid-season in 2000 and started beating Martin O'Connell that everyone sat up and took notice because Martin was the class king.

I'd happily have RD's bank balances :-) but I'm not RD.

Scott Pye is back driving down under, I don't know where the Fortec potential drive comes from. I understood that he would probably have found it hard -impossible to return to European racing due to still having a rumoured short fall re 2011 payments and his BA. Was he not on a Mercerdes deal? Frowned upon behaviour would not have helped him if he was and Fortec run Mercedes.

What's the point of a remark like that unless you can substantiate it?

Speak to former team Strider or former staff that have been forced to move on.
No Macau drive, now in Aussie tin tops. Sorry 2 + 2 adds up to spot on information Strider.
Hopefully there's always other deserving young talent who will benefit That's the point!

Whatever. Apart from the fact that he's driving in Australian saloons, the rest is spurious hearsay and not what I come on here to read.

That's somewhat spurious.
Personally I don't come on here to here insiders peddling the F3 political party line.
Old saying "no smoke without fire" normally somebody within teams has a good word for some of the least popular characters. I don't peddle party politics or hearsay

So I've noticed.

Getting back to more important matters, the first two official tests of the season will be held today (Wednesday) and Thursday.

Anybody with entry list? Who Gilbert and Mettler test with?

A healthy looking grid this morning Strider
I guess the Double R truck just got lost on the way to the track.
14 cars are going to set the world of motor sport alight with excitement but I'm sure some will put a positive slant on it

There are 14 cars out at Snetterton so far, which is better than the 9 or 10 some people were predicting. It's cloudy, but the track's wet from earlier rain.

Tuesday and Wednesday but thanks for the heads-up, I had forgotten when the first tests were. I'm intrigued about what kind of pace Carlos Sainz Jr. can show for Carlin both in this test and over the season - we know what Alguersuari, Ricciardo and Vergne achieved in the same Red Bull/Carlin arrangement. He made a good start this morning.

EDIT: Strider, according to the classifications here, Nick McBride is running in an F308 with a Mugen Honda engine. Do you know when their Nissan engine will be ready?

I think he'll be quick. Today is a guide because I don't think he will have driven at Snetterton before.

I don't, but I'd hazard a guess that it's quite complicated to make the switch from VW. They'll need a different engine fitting kit for a start and I don't know if the engines are coming from Japan and/or who is maintaining them in the UK.

Nissan engines are in UK and ready to go, sadly Dallara could not supply the adaptor plate in time, with luck should arrive later this week so as to be at Rockingham for next weeks test. RR have had bad luck, their Japanese drivers father is seriously ill so Yuki Shiraishi has had to return to Japan. They will however be at Rockingham next week with a driver in their second National car.

Do we know if McBride will run in an F312 or an F308 when the racing actually starts? iirc the article in which Autosport announced that Nissan was coming to the UK didn't mention the car. If he's in the International class (which I presume he will be), I guess it'll be an F312.

Dallara F312 is a must as National Class (F308) is covered by Mugen Engines if i recall well
