I cannot wait for a full on effort with that dome, with 2 or 3 cars and all pros. I know the guys in it are pros now, but they're short of lm experience and unproven at proto level i think.
Let's go Dome, let's go! |

Ok, I've read a lot about side splitters, and creating an increased amount of downforce using them, just like the front splitter does. Interesting then, that Dome have effectively blanked their's off with a little add on piece. Stability issues, perhaps? Sam, Mike, any ideas? Looking at it again, that piece might be another regulations piece, because not even the extra fin/strake (whatever) in the exit there is too far away from the car's side?
http://www.endurance-info.com/2008_L...est/Dome11.jpg Also, it looks so good because, imo, they've pushed the regs, and kinda taken them in spirit more than others, lots of regulation fitting plates and stuff to get around the rules. SEXY car. Oh, and I've read a lot about gurney flaps too, should there not be at least one on those louvres? Last edited by minimangler; 31 May 2008 at 11:51. |

Have to admit that this is the car I'm most looking forward to seeing in a little over a week's time. Just hope it goes as good as it looks! |

I'm an optimist as far as Pescarolo goes. I suspect he'll build a chassis of his own, especially given the additional Nicolet resources he has access to. However I don't think this will necessarily lead to a concomitant fall down the grid. The Pescarolo LMP2 experience is, I think, pretty illustrative in this respect - in Bouillon's hands during the shakedown it showed RS Spyder like pace and in all 3 LMS rounds so far it's been genuinely competitive. I see no reason why this can't be reflected in LMP1 developments for next year and beyond. |

Think it will certainly have pace, especially in qualifying with three drivers giving it the full 'Tora!Tora!' treatment for the honour of being fastest! |

The most surprising thing is that they have no sponsors.

Just special thanks!
It seems to be a Dome marketing effort for themselves. Judging from photos this car is beautifully designed and put-together. Very impressive. Dome does some excellent work and their wind tunnel facilities are first-rate. It's sort of branded to highlight that - "Dome Carbon Magic". Frankly, the white livery is beautiful. The car evokes Japanese prototype specials of old by using the classic Japanese racing colour. It should be quite impressive over a single lap at Le Mans, I imagine. |

http://www.mulsannescorner.com/audir10-3.html If I understand what you're referring too (having looked at the Dome image there), then the R10 has something similar. The black return lip on the outboard edge of the Dome's floor seems to be something added perhaps last minute? Either way, they must be seeing similar to Audi and I dare say it helps extraction of the front diffuser. That's certainly a guess based on nothing at all! |

I would guess Honda/Acura. Would be a natural fit if they planned to move to LMP1 soon.

Why aren't they running any major sponsorship at all? That puzzles me. If you can recoup some running expenses, why wouldn't you unlesss you ahd some ethical disagreement with advertising. |
