Speaking of frontal impacts in prototypes, that is precisely the type of accident that could cause thoraic/lumbar fractures.
Hopefully there's no lasting injuries for Lopez. |

I spoke too soon, the car is moving again. They need to try and salvage a finish, or they'll lose valuable points to Porsche

That's in a bigger mess than previously appeared. Drivers right has quite a bit of damage too. That might be done, sadly.

Oi!
I am watching Toyota dominate at Silverstone, while following the final kms of the Amstel Gold race on the other screen, when suddenly I see a Toyota without a nose cone. Oi! Don't you guys Want to win? Did you think the race needed more drama? |

Moved to a full safety car. Porsche have caught right up. Extra insult for Toyota.
That also mean an Audi leads the pack. |

Looking at that crash in replay, it looks like it snapped as he turned in. If that roll bar was broken, something else was probably stressed enough that the load finally made it break. I'd love to hear something from the team about what went on.

The Porsches should still be 1/4 and 1/2 lap behind, but now they can go much longer on this stint compared to the #8.
If this SC is long enough to force the #8 to pit then the ignominy will be complete. Edit - I am wrong, serves me for relying on live timing. |

I thought when you move from FCY to SC, the field should bunch up. The 8 hasn't caught the SC. Bit confused as to what is going on with the field.

Still about 10 second lead for the #8. They'll restart in clear air, but the Porsche will have lap traffic.

At least they aren't losing many laps on the #8 since there's a safety car. If it was at race speed they may not make it out with enough time to do the points paying distance.
