Not looking good, lets see what they can do in Quali.
Also AMR confirmed thats its was chassis 2-1 yesterday would that make it this car owned by Charouz? http://racingcars24.com/index.php?si...&adtitle=17770 |

There was a guy from Aston Martin Racing interviewed at Silverstone today during one of the red flag periods. He was so non-committal about the future of the AMR-One that you've got to think there's little chance of ever seeing it in a race again.

Good riddance I'd say. Keep the current car and base a new one off of that.

Yeah a lot of 'no comments' from GHC. I honestly don't think they know themselves what they will do. I hope they will be around in some capacity next year. Doesn't look good for prospective manufacturers to see Aston humbled so badly while trying to step up a level.

Im betting OAK and Rebellion blow AMR and the ALMS Lolas away at Petit, but the Aston will be competitive against its fellow AMR team and Dyson at Laguna Seca. |

Personally just very pleased that the 007 got back running today. Initially looking at Primat's incident on Hanger Straight (from Beckett's grandstand) it looked a lot like game over for Laguna Seca.
Ultimately though, the grandfathered cars are starting to fall behind the proper petrol LMP1s - and once you factor in the lack of race prep from AMR and today's performance isn't all that surprising. I can't see them being any faster at PLM, and in all honesty both Dyson and Cytosport should have the edge at Laguna Seca next week. Positives? It still looks good, and even hobbled, sounds okay, and in getting a reasonable six hours running hopefully keeps spirits up at AMR and boosts, somehow, the chances of us getting a WEC programme from them next year. |

I fully expect to see the grandfathered cars being beaten by the new breed , once people get their handle on them . Cytosport , should not imo , be able to beat AMR with the same car , end of . |

Cytosport have been running the car all year with pro drivers.
AMR have leased the car back from the collector & given it 1 quick shake down in order to fufill their contracts with pay drivers. the 'factory' team will be doing well to get within a second a lap of the more serious effort. |

I was pleased to see it - it still looks and sounds good as Ian says - just a shame it was such a poor performer in the race.....

Anyone got any more info on what happened on the Hangar Straight? I'm assuming all the tv cameras picked up was the aftermath which is what I saw?

It is hard to believe that the car moved after that let alone finished.

I can't say for certain as I wasn't really concentrating and only took the picture instinctively upon seeing unusual movement, but I think the Aston clipped some traffic through Chapel, which put it sideways, causing the familliar air-under-the-car problem, which led to the introduction of the fin for this year.
