After everything I'm a bit disappointed by that - if that's real.
Subjective statement but Porsche aren't exactly nailing their liveries this year. |

I don't dislike it and want to see more photos from different angles, but I do think it is a missed opportunity. It would have been nice to see some type of livery that we will be talking about 10 or 20 years from now.
I can't say exactly what Porsche is going for. It is very much along the lines of the 2013 911 RSR which showcased the 50th anniversary of Porsche. Maybe the patterns makes sense when seen from above (again, much like last years LeMans GT car). I wouldn't be surprised if it ties into their overall marketing message of "Return to LeMans" somehow. Overall, I suspect Porsche is trying to put the focus on the car and company and to purposefully not have livery that becomes the focus. Effectively "The car is the star". I personally think that pre-season "dazzle" paint is mostly a joke as it likely obscures details from casual fans, but not competitors. So it will be interesting to see what photo analysis picks up with the new livery. Richard |

Newcastle United or Juventus FC oriented livery. I don't like it, but motorsport is about to be the fast not pretty.

What a "meh" livery, you'd think they come up with something better for their Le Mans return.

I think it says "2014" when seen from above.

Isn't there any regulations about the angle of the position lamp?

Can see that being a bit of a grower.
Bit of a boring livery, but that's how the manufacturers seem to like it these days in all forms of motorsport. It's nice to see the car without the camo livery in any instance, and it's a looker in my opinion. The livery does the lines of the car justice at least. |

I don’t like to say this, but I find it rather bland.
I find it rather worrying that none of Audi, Porsche or Toyota will have a major ‘Title’ sponsor influencing their colours/ livery. I can’t believe they all want their company colours to be the focus of the car. Or will they surprise us tomorrow with a completely different livery?? |

They might all fit together and form a year or a pretty pattern when next to each other but apart from in a promo shot that will never occur again.
Fans don't look down on the racing action. We aren't birds. So I'm not sure why you'd design a livery of a racing car around that theme. |

I quite like it. Also interesting to see DMG Mori have a large sponsorship presence on it. That kind of came out of nowhere. I was really expecting more from Red Bull or Adidas or the aforementioned adult beverage company.
I was a manufacturing engineer for years on Mori Seiki CNC machines, and they are top quality. The tie up between DMG (Germany) and Mori Seiki (Japan) happened a few years ago with two of the largest machine tool builders in the world joining forces. As a side note, Toyota has sported the JTEKT branding on the rear wing end plate area for the last few years, which is the parent company of Toyoda Machinery, another CNC machine tool builder. So it looks like we have some competition there. |
