They both have a Chinese flag..Also different rear brake ducting. Optical illusion or different packages or shortage of parts?

Anyway I just hope this doesn't end up being like the Onroak-Ligier LMP2 at LM where it's basically a sitting duck against Oreca's downforce and aero supeority (probably even with the new waiver EVO kit). But at least even if that happens, it's not end of the world because this ain't spec & freeze tech & cost-cap like P2 is |

The guys said that the engine was not at its best or full potential. So if they can get that running full song, then I think the top speed should be up there with the rest.

Ginetta would('ve) help(ed) themselves if they run a test mule chassis and engine of their own, instead of these two being the only actual development kits

Yes, just like how when Audi and Toyota ran different spec cars at Spa they were throwing the race.

Meh. I have arguments against Spa being important to win for Toyota
A) Let's be honest it is and always has been a dress rehearsal for LM, more than an actual "race to be won". B) For the first time since forever there's not been any event prior to it (even in 2005 when Spa was the only LMS event before LM, the P1s could've run in ALMS) so it's dead on race preparation practice more than ever C) Before there was once-a-year potential EOT change for the hybrids, but now BoP can be changed at any time between them and non hybrid... Better not to blown others away D) Championship win is irrelevant The only exception here would be the added moderate PR value of Alonso debut win. Or if both of the Toyotas succumbed and allowed first privateer overall win since the Hungaroring 6 Hours many years back, I guess perversely that could make the championship look more "serious" or sth |

I agree with points A, B and C.
Point D, however, whilst the Championship is probably third on the list of priorities after LM18 and LM19 I feel that Toyota can win the 'Super Season' without really trying as they'll get a podium place or two at every round whereas the different privateers will be battling it out for the remaining places and it is less likely the same team will be near the top in every race. (This comment, of course, relies on the assumption that all the LMP1 cars are bundled together in one class for WEC points rather than Toyota being in a class of their owner....) |

The #6 car apparently missed it's scrutineering appointment and had to be fitted in right at the end of the session instead. |

They did just one lap to be able to compete if everything gets sorted out?

1 lap each again in FP2! Something is up and needs to be addressed, this looks embarrassing.

I have assume they are looking at a bank balance for some funds to drop in instead of the timing screens right now. Horrible situation.

Not looking too great, both cars only did one lap in both sessions. Nothing to do but wait for an explanation.

If they do one lap of qualifying and/or race they need to be parked for taking up a spot on the grid when other teams with actual running teams and funding could be there. Sad situation.

Very disappointing debut. Explanations will be given without doubt.

Either someone's check didn't clear or they're having major problems with the car. Lack of comment isn't exactly confidence inspiring either.

It has to be funding. The cars ran mostly fine at the Prologue and just had a recent test last week iirc.

Normally Dagys would be first to post even the slighest sniff of a rumour (even if it was nonsense). So the fact he doesn't have anything says quite a lot.
I suspect GG knows, but won't be commenting due to it not being his place to, which is fair enough. It'll really suck if things don't get sorted for Spa. |
