With no racing at all in April why could the "Supertest" not be on the Clipsal weekend, Clipsal on the Tassie weekend and Tassie in the middle of April? Oh sorry that would mean missing out on opportunity to weaken the 12 Hour, which looks like they have failed to do anyway!

I took the quote to mean Eastern Creek and Mt Panorama being three hours apart (though he must have included a stop for lunch at Lithgow McDonalds to get to 3hrs)

Is it just me who sees the irony in the cancellation of the Ferrari 458 series from Clipsal due to "sponsorship and calendar clashes"?

I love how all the v8 fans are having little princess tanties about it

probably though a Ferrari F1 is more attractive than the 458 demo

another reason to attend

Or has James forgotten how many states and territories Australia has.

V8 SUPERCARS REVIEWING SUPER SPRINT FORMAT

Quote:
V8 Supercars has launched an early season review of its Super Sprint format, with a shake-up of the Saturday program to be made as soon as the next event.
would reckon this is good news, the current format especially for saturday is not ideal

The tyre allocations are also officially under review in a separate process which was started prior to Barbagallo.
however no short term changes on tyres due to production issues.

But longer races put more pressure on tyres

Why not review SuperStreet and Enduro races as well. Whereby the Clipsal 500 is 1x200km and 1x300km as well as Sydney 500. Townsville can stay the same. Sandown and Bathurst leave it how it is and Gold Coast 600 1x200km and 1x400km race.

Or even have SuperStreet and Enduro races have only 1 race on the Sunday and have like a MotoGP/F1 style weekend

Single races outside Sandown/Bathurst cannot be done as things stand

Ever since 2006 Saturday racing has been sold as a crucial part of the TV deals, and presumebly Saturday V8 racing is a part of alot of the contracts with event promoters

Having said that of course, single races have always worked out ok for F1, MotoGP and NASCAR.
