I'd suspect Mr Holdsworth presents good value for money for Mr Schwerkolt.
Decent steerer, doesn't command the rockstar paypacket of others. |

Why would Charlie drop Lee? He's a good value for money driver and has a tremendous ability being the wheel. He's done a very good job this year so far

Lack of results? He's currently 12th in the championship with 2 top ten results and collected 3 top tens last season for a one car team of their size in its infancy that's a pretty good job

The current driver/team arrangement doesn't seem like it will be a winner anytime soon. |

Considering they're starting from scratch they where always going to take a while to get to the top the point I'm making is they're making strides with Lee behind the wheel. They where towards to rear of the field last season now they've moved up to be a consistent mid pack team

Tekno is the benchmark, having the same chassis/engine supply. Tekno are there or there abouts in the top 10 in more sessions than not, and some decent race results when not binning the toy. Hard to say the same things about PHR.. 12th place not withstanding |

Many of the staff within Chasports have been around a very long time.
They're hardly rookies. |

Not implying the employees are rookies, I meant as a overall entity their new to running their own operation instead of running under another teams banner.

It wasn't so much about Charlie knowing better than Dick.
It was a case of everyone knowing better than Jill |

It was the case, the results are obvious to see.
DJR was a shambles, and it was a miracle that they managed to hang onto the Jim Beam sponsorship, and with Charlie's support and direction they managed to recruit Burgess, Courtney and others and in 888 machinery they were a force that year. In 2011 they were 15th and 23rd in the series, and 9th in the teams championship, 2nd last out of the 2 car teams. 2012 they were 17th, 19th and 21st in the series. |

(1) Charlie is being credited for 100% of DJR's 2010 championship win, which is incorrect, and (2) Based on the above premise, then why has this feat never even been close to being repeated; and furthermore why are they not (yet) matching Teckno, who have the same setup and are a clear benchmark? |

It isn't incorrect, without Charlie it is likely DJR would have ceased to exist.
No one person can ever be 100% responsible but Charlie quite literally saved the team when he joined in 2008, and began a period of stability the team had not had for a very long time, allowing the recruitment of excellent people and ultimate the championship win in 2010. DJR's fall after Charlie left was immediate and swift. It is much more difficult to bring big buck sponsors to a noname team, and it is impossible to compare a very small, sensibly run team to the DJR of 2010, with a big name sponsor (even if the dollars were not big), some very big names (Courtney/Burgess/Scott Sinclair). To deny Charlie's contribution to DJR's championship by saying he hasn't repeated it with his own small team, is just logically flawed. This year has made a big improvement in my opinion, reliablilty is better and they have been in the 10 a couple of times, so I wouldn't say Charlie is looking to dump Lee, if he is then its a dumb move and potentially disastrous in this stage of development |
