The car parks look full, and the track looks empty - was it a 2005 touring car round ?

We are all saving ourselves until the 15th, or hastily trying to finish off cars due to late arrival of parts!
There are 44 confirmed entries now, pretty good for the first round.

How did the testing go ?
p.s I've got the ECU back from MBE with a clean bill of health, and with a bit of dodgy temporary wiring managed to get some sparks -will do a permanent fix tomorrow ( I hope )

good especially bearing in mind after i wrecked a crankshaft 4 days before at stowe and had to do a total engine rebuild working into the wee small hours.

early on in testing i had big issues with missfires which i gradually fixed, chassis was really good, lap times weren't brilliant, 55's (incidently my best lap time in the non turbo 2002 driving right on the edge) but it was very busy, at least twice a lap there was something else going a lot slower in the way, maybe more importantly that was a very easy lap time to do without pushing things, so 50's could well be on the cards

You'll be OK, just watch out for things faster trying to fly past, and things slower getting in the way.

I'm STILL waiting for my new gearbox. It was delivered to the shippers last friday(a week ago!), and Parcel2(not)go haven't contacted me to get it onward shipped to the UK. That's the last time I'll use them.

I don't relish having to hold it in 2nd around druids, but if I have to.... it'll be entertaining.

With the amount of torque you have in that thing Rob just take it up a cog, you will never know the difference :-)

i'm inclined to aree with ya Al, druids has always been a 2nd gear corner in my cars, thanks to my motors serious torque its now 3rd but will do it in 4th quite nicely! , it makes for quite a relaxed ride not having to change gear every 2 seconds

By the way Graham, Steve Weatherley was there testing with you on Friday, as was Gordon Streeter (although Gordon is not on the entry list for the 15th).

Don't tend to buzz the motor either and as I know Rob is a bit worried about the old MPG on his car it will help there too, maybe he can fit an overdrive and really get some economy

How it was around Abbey on the Silverstone International layout, I'd say that 3rd might be pushing it.

I could fit a "Gear Vendor" overdrive to it for more economy, you're right Al.
If I take the inhibit off, I could have an 8 speed box!!!

On second thoughts. Naaaahhhh. Sirry irriot.

Parcel2stop said they were sending me the shipping invoice last friday to ship the 'box from Florida, to my door. Time for a phone call me thinks.

Rob.

I am also awaiting some rose jointed lower control arms and panard rod from Steve Spohn Autosports for my black car to stop it trying to 'climb out the back of the car' as falcemob put it when following me around Brands. I think changing the bushes to 100% urethene has induced bind (apparently it should be ideally 100% rose jointed or 50/50 uerthane and rose joint or leave it sloppy rubber) so this will hopefully sort it, the whole back end will then be rose jointed, back to the point I digress! Yes this is coming via US Postal services and they sent me an email over the weekend saying they tried to deliver it at 6.30 am on Saturday! I think they may have their time zones confused but it has now disappeared off the tracking system and I don't have a clue who handles US Postal this end so can't even chase.

USPS his handled by the Royal Snail in the UK.

Sounds like you're going to be busy when that lot turns up.

I will be, if mine ever arrives!
