50-SIX should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
[QUOTE=08u05;2468532]
Jake Green was due to join JTR for Rockingham, although due to the recent news and their absence at the Rockingham test on Friday, I am unsure as to what the situation currently is.
QUOTE]

I spoke to Nick a couple of days ago and he assured me everything was continuing as normal, they tested there couple of weeks back (hence not last week) and are definately there at the weekend, and season long.

JTR is continuing with 100% effort and focus in both the Ford and F3 arms, and any interested drivers should contact the team as normal. They are keen, as they have always been, to take on any new driving talent.

This is off topic. Is the BRDC Single Seater Championship still run where they used Van Diemen RF97's and a few Zeus chassis?

No, The Zeus chassis were sold into China and the VDs to Everyman.

I think the top 5 that you have in the championship are a cut above the rest this year. Although 2 drivers caught my eye at Rockingham and both had pretty bad weekends results wise. They are Ben Barker and Patrick Mckenna. If you managed to look through the sectors times over the whole weekend then these boys showed the most promise, especially Patrick who I wrote off at the start of the season but was looking good this weekend. He didnt qualify well which didnt help as I think he had contact with Chris Palmer and that set up his weekend as he was in the mid pack where anything could happen and both drivers lost out. But showed good improvements in pace.

Roll on Knockhill in a couple of weeks

It's hard to tell at this stage. He seems to be doing OK considering his lack of experience on British circuits, but he'll need some solid results this year to avoid the 'promising Aussie who went back home to try his luck in V8 Supercars' tag.

His website (www.demotorsport.com.au) isn't too flash ...

True, true, but - sigh - it's always a pity when talent doesn't find its true level.

I think Dan E is a good racer. I dont think we have seen the best of him yet as he hasnt had the best qualifying sessions which always means his weekends are going to be difficult starting in the mid field. If he can improve this part of his driving then I am sure he can be battling for race wins.

Daniel Erikson has qualified 5th at Knockhill which is a great effort. Ben Barker got the pole. Interesting grid with very tight qualifying times...

Knockhill Race 1 (Saturday): 1. Ben Barker; 2. Daniel Cammish; 3. Daniel Erickson (Great result - Go Aussie!). Brief results are on the MSA British Formula Ford Championship official website (http://www.britishformulaford.co.uk/2009results.htm), but there aren't any qualifying results or news. Where are you digging up that 'instant' info?

Thanks 50-SIX! Online sites like tsl-timing.com save us from having to rely on traditional media outlets that only rarely look beyond the F1, MotoGP and (here in Australia) V8 Supercars. The only problem is that 15.40GMT is 00.40 (Monday) Sydney time, but I wouldn't miss the chance to 'see' Daniel's first FF win 'live' for quids!

Great to see patrick back up there were he belongs. Rory done very well especially if you look at his engine through the speed traps. A pitty he did not have a few more horses.Would have made a big impression if he had a real engine.
