Just seen the latest versions of the liveries.
The Texaco car does have a small bonnet logo, so that's OK. But the area around the Big Red logo on the rear bumper is now painted red. The Juicy Fruit livery is crazy bright! Haven't seen a Big Red livery, makes me wonder if they will actually run it. |

Oh yeah, I saw that one and the model mock-up. But they were before the Juicy Fruit announcement and suchlike.
The cars I saw were at a Lowe's Media event where Ganassi displayed all their cars from various classes. (See below) Hope they do run the three liveries though. I will probably join that forum fish, should be good! Although I am a bit worried that everyone would agree all the time! Last edited by Knowlesy; 27 Jan 2008 at 18:15. |

Yeah, I was quite pleasantly surprised with the Charger decals.
Just need MA to start putting them on their models! Last edited by Knowlesy; 27 Jan 2008 at 21:46. |

Yep the Charger decals make the CoT look much more aggressive than the Avenger ones. I do like the new Texaco livery, the mix of gloss and matt black looks great.
I think the Big Red livery will be run, considering at Preseason Thunder at Daytona JPM ran with a partial Big Red livery... Annoying on the Big Red rear QP decals on the Texaco livery now being on a red background, makes the already released model even less accurate than the first 2007 Charger! Hopefully there'll be another Daytona 24hrs model, preferably this time in 1:18/1:24 and half the price of the hand built! |

You may be in luck, J-C. Grand Am has teamed up with Greenlight Collectables to produce 1:64 and 1:24 scale replicas of selected Riley models. Lets hope the '08 24hr winner will be made!

That's good to hear, would be nice ideally if they did both the 2007 and 2008 #01 24hr cars.

Here's the finished article then (Havoline wise).
Frightening how much it has changed from the mock ups. I sense a year of conversion decals awaits. |

The colours have just been flipped on the black paint. Gloss black body, satin black flames. Me wish it was the other way around, I wanted to call it the "stealth bomber."

So wait, the Homestead car is now an 'official' diecast, or is it still a homemade conversion?

No still Homemade, he based the car on a elite version though. The seller also told me that he will make the Busch car wich he made his debut in in 2006.

Could you PM me the seller making the Busch car fish?
It's frustrating seeing all this stuff come out when I have no income. FFS. |

Is that test car a conversion or an official release?
Incidently be ready for less cars to come this season. Last year each Ganassi driver had their own merchandise hauler at each race. This year all three are being covered by a single hauler. And there is no new merchandise over and above last seasons offering. I can only guess sales didn't reach the dizzying heights that post-season #88 kit did! |

I have a few conversions that I had made for me at the back end of last year- a #4 ARCA (good), a #30 Homestead (very nice) and a #42 2007 testcar which doesn't look anything like as good as that one on eBay. I assume that's a conversion although the description doesn't say.

Excellent news. I'll look out for it at Sears Point in June.
Any word on the Rolex cars yet? |
