F1 isn't identical unless you consider rules for equalization identical. 4 wheels an engine spec., dimensions, etc. don't equal identical. I'm all for the cars to differ from each other, but F1 can only go so far. LeMans is nice but so is F1. That's the thing about racing and different series. I sure don't want to see the diesels owning everything, that's no different than Ferrari and McLaren being champion every year.

F1 is identiclones these days. I go back to when we had 3 different V8s, 3 different V12s, flat 12s, etc and umpteen variations of car.

Oh, and overtaking, too.

I like variety. It's the spice of life.

Rebellion hired Ian Smith - ex Creation and James Robinson - ex everything from F1 to A1.

Brings in quite a bit of extra experience to the project which should help IMO.

What's Jeroen Bleekemolen's experience in prototypes? The only prototype association that springs to mind is his Le Mans appearance in the Van Merksteijn RS Spyder a couple of years ago (did rather well!).

he also drove the Audi R10 for Kolles, both at Le Mans and the LMS I think(edit: no that was cristian albers). Before his stint with Van Merksteijn, he drove the Racing for Holland Dome.

Mariantic has picked up on an interesting quote from J-CB in an interview on the ACO website. Apparently, the Lola Toyota which Rebellion will race at Sebring will remain in the States until PLM. So, there must be at least 3 Lola Toyota's, given that the team will race 2 cars at Le Mans.

Don't Rebellion have 4 Lola coupe chassis available (2 originally built for LMP2)? And the modifications to bring a LMP2 Lola to LMP1 spec aren't that major in the end, so...

Yeah , I saw that too . Whats the point in leaving it there , except to race it ?

They stand a good chance of wrapping up the ALMS championship .

I suspect it has rather more to do with logistics. If the car's not needed back in Europe, they might as well leave it Stateside until PLM.

Not sure mate, I haven't kept tabs on which, if any, have been sold.

Yep, that was the most effective piece of 'for the fans' PR I've ever experienced. They remain my favourite team by a country mile.

I would have thought they would have wanted back in Europe as a spare ..... but I dont know how many chassis they have ..... Hoping your wrong Mr.B , but probably correct mate .

Didnt like thair livery until I saw it in the flesh , I think it looks striking now .
