Flying Lizards just stepped up their chances of winning the AM class with the news that Patrick Pilet comes in to replace Darren Law, who has a "scheduling conflict". Sure he does...

Darren: "...Please, I told the boys I'd be driving with them at Le Mans that weekend." Mrs Law: "No Darren, for the last three years I've let you go to France that weekend, but this year you're coming to the family gathering in Toronto." Darren: "But if I do, who's going to look after Seth?" Mrs Law: "Seth's a big boy now, and he's got that nice, young Marco Holzer to look after him anyway." Darren: "No he hasn't, it's Spencer again. Like last year." Mrs Law: "Then definitely not, it's out of the question; I always thought Spencer was a bad influence on both of you. You're coming to Canada and that's final. It's not like you ever finish anyway......." |

Quote from the ACO's website:
"Strakka Racing achieved everything it set out to do in the official test session for the Le Mans 24 Hours, successfully running its Honda Performance Development ARX-03a through its entire pre-planned schedule and finishing the day as fastest petrol engine car and top privateer entrant." When did Toyota announce the switch to a diesel engine? - or have I missed something here? |

They are probably considering the Toyota as a hybrid and not 'just' a petrol engine. (Of course, only the original French article is considered definitive)

Yeah I think this is it. I think I've even seen Strakka themselves refer to them being the first petrol runners.

Corvette and Larbre so far apart, again... I guess seeing LAA as their regular neighbour for so long made me think that the vettes should always stick together

I see they've lobbed both Irish teams alongside each other in the granny annexe... wonder if the luck of the Irish would counterbalance the black magic of the Row of Woe.

If I may be forgiven for quoting in full from Oak's release on Wednesday:-
06/06/2012 Guillaume Moreau making progress in hospital Guillaume Moreau, who received surgery on Sunday following his serious accident during the Le Mans 24 Hours Test Day, remains at the University Hospital of Angers where the prognosis is encouraging. The worst possible outcome has undoubtedly been avoided thanks to the efficiency of all those medical teams involved. Indeed, it was the speed of the medical staff on hand at Circuit de la Sarthe during both Guillaume’s extraction from the car and the decision to transfer him to the specialist department in Angers that reduced the time between his accident and subsequent emergency surgery. Following his arrival in Angers, Guillaume received immediate attention from the resuscitation team working at the Accident and Emergency surgery block, as well as the neurosurgery specialists who handle this type of trauma. Neurosurgeon Dr. Olivier Lucas worked quickly to relieve pressure around the spinal cord throughout the six hours following Guillaume’s accident. This pressure had been generated by the compression of the twelfth vertebra. The fracture was also stabilised during this time. Surgery was considered a success and no further injuries were found, allowing the medical team to fully focus on the problem at hand. Despite the short timeframe since surgery, initial signs appear positive. Post-procedure has been straightforward with Guillaume recovering sensations in his legs and tests revealing greater strength in the area compared to on arrival. And such encouraging progress has seen thoughts now turn to a bespoke rehabilitation programme tailored to his condition. Nevertheless, Guillaume is fully aware that this will take much time and patience. But thanks to his unquestionable mental strength, the team is in no doubt that Guillaume will rise to the challenge presented. Everyone at OAK Racing would like to wish him a full and speedy recovery. Guillaume would also like to thank the numerous people who have sent messages of support. As well as helping raise a smile, they have also sustained him at this difficult time. |

According to http://www.autohebdo.fr/endurance/le...acerait-moreau Guillaume Moreau will be replaced by none other than Franck Montagny!
The last Peugeot driver has finally found a seat for Le Mans. |
