He would be able to 'get' a factory drive almost anywhere due to his immense marketing value. What he may not be able to get is the money he may want to do it!

Open tops IMO belong in F1 and open wheel racing, not even lmp2. Just my thought. I hope it's a coupe.

Despite big rule changes for 2014, it's going to be pretty easy decision if the closed vs. open situation (i.e. pitstop rules) stays the same. Might not require a decision at all with the intent to make P1 coupe only (mandatory).

Even if rules don't make it mandatory, there is always the aerodynamics aspect to consider.

me too. open top lmp1 cars look so great (like the arx 01e or the r15+). It really sucks that they have only two more years left. It would have been so great to see an rs spyder-ish p1 porsche. Much like the 01e was based on the lmp2 car, with extensive modifications of course.

Before everything else, this is just my opinion...
With the new set of rules being introduce in 2014, LMP P1 car´s with 750kg minimum weight and the holes, an open car will look like a F1.. and i don´t appreciate that a lot... F1 is F1, endurance car´s are endurance car´s, let them look different please. |

The holes in the fenders don't change the overall appearance of the car drastically. So don't fear, we will not see F1 cars at Le Mans - Only a huge d***! |

The holes in the fenders this year is not a concern to me ( well they are ugly, but...safety issues) the possible new set of 2014 rules are because i´m afraid that we will have F1 car´s with the wheels covered. |

I don't think you should be afraid. The closest a LMP will ever come to a F1 car with fenders is the WR LMP2 |

Congratulations.
In a recent video, Porsche suggest 918 RSR could still race at least once before the end of next year. |
